AFCAT 1 2020 Exam Analysis of English
Number of questions
- Number of questions in the English section is as indicated in the syllabus. There are 25 questions in all in the English Section including one close test, one unseen package and three from error finding.
- 06 questions from antonyms & synonyms, 03 questions from close test, 04 questions from fillers, 05 questions from unseen passage, 02 questions from idioms & phrases and 05 questions from errors constituted the English section.
Change of pattern
- A notable change is the omission of the “no error” option from error finding questions in English.
Level of difficulty
- The level of vocabulary used is very high. Diverse terms and phrases have been included in the question paper.
AFCAT 1 2020 Exam Analysis of Reasoning & Military Aptitude
Number of questions
- 6 questions have been included in the Venn diagrams section. The overall level of difficulty of Venn diagrams is moderately high compared to previous years.
Change in pattern
- Reasoning and aptitude sections is fairly unchanged and similar to previous year questions. Candidates who solved previous year questions can `be expected to have answered all questions.
Level of difficulty
- Jumbled words and analogy questions are fairly easy in terms of the level of difficulty. Questions have also been included from dot situation.
AFCAT 1 2020 Exam Analysis of General Awareness
Number of questions
- The total number of questions is unchanged from previous years. The total number of questions were as indicated in the syllabus for General Awareness section
Change of Pattern
- The question pattern is fairly unchanged. It is similar to the pattern followed in the day 01 of the AFCAT 2020 examination.
- Questions have been included from the knowledge of capital cities. Specifically, the capital of African countries have been emphasised upon.
- Questions have been included from the location of the line of equator i.e. continents through which such important geographic lines passes.
- Terms related to sports have been included in the question paper. Events related to sports have been included.
- General awareness questions have also been included from the knowledge of headquarters of organizations of international importance.
Level of difficulty
- The overall level of difficulty of the General Awareness section was moderately high. This is because some uncommon questions have been included,
AFCAT 1 2020 Exam Analysis of Numerical ability
Number of questions
- 18 questions as indicated in the syllabus. All questions from within the syllabus.
- 01 questions from average and 02 questions have been included from time and work.
Change of pattern
- Questions have been included from speed, distance & time; boats and streams and trains. Overall, 16.67% questions are from these topics.
Level of difficulty
- Even though from within the syllabus, questions have been deliberately framed to be tricky to test the knowledge of applicants.
- For example, questions have been included that combined simple interest and compound interest into a single numerical.
