AFCAT 1/2022 Selection Procedure
To qualify in the AFCAT 1/2022 examination it is mandatory for the candidates to qualify in all of the stages of the AFCAT 1/2022 examination individually. Below given is a brief overview of all the stages in the AFCAT 1/2022 examination. Candidates will be able to obtain a clear outline of the selection procedure of AFCAT 1/2022 exam from this section.
- First stage of AFCAT 1/2022 selection is the Written Examination for which the candidate must secure a score equal to or greater than that year’s cut off.
- Next candidates will be able to select the date and venue of their preference for AFCAT 1/2022 AFSB.
- Candidates can download their Call-up letters for appearing in AFSB test
- AFSB has three stages. Only the candidates who qualify stage I will be able to attend Stage II.
- Stage I will have Officer Intelligence Rating Test, Picture Perception test and Discussion round
- Stage II will have psychological test and for the next 5 days Group discussion and interview will be held
- Computerized Pilot Selection System or CPSS is conducted for flying branch, which will be a once in a lifetime examination.
- Physical fitness of the candidate is also put to test. IAF recommends the following routine to be adopted
- Running: up to 4 Km. in 15 minutes
- Skipping
- Push ups & Sit-ups: Minimum 20 each
- Chin ups: 08
- Rope Climbing: 3 to 4 meters
- Swimming (25 m)

About AFCAT
Air Force Common Admission Test or AFCAT exam is an annual nationwide examination conducted by the Indian Air Force or IAF. AFCAT is conducted to recruit eligible candidates to Group A Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches of the Indian Air Force. The AFCAT 1 exam is held in three stages – the written exam, Air Force Selection Board or AFSB Interview and medical exam. The AFCAT Written Exam is the only stage for clearing the first stage for the Non-Technical candidates, while AFCAT + Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) for the Technical candidates.
