The AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) exam, conducted for the air arm of Indian forces was conducted on 18 Aug 2018 & 19 Aug 2018. On the exam day, the students seemed well prepared to tackle the exam. AFCAT 02/18 Exam Analysis
As per the keen-eyes of the experts, the overall exam was not much difficult. It was seen that many questions were just like the last year. For most, if the questions, just some basic knowledge was required.
General Knowledge Section
Speaking of the General Knowledge section, it consisted of easy question and experts say that even if you will study from one or two books, you will be able to easily bag good marks. In the GK section, History related questions were asked, sports-related questions were also there. Some of the questions included the Jalian Wala Bagh Massacre, Questions on volleyball, the Macau Island, Shakespear Books, Vedas, Southern point of India. Further, questions on the space agency were also asked in this section. Experts say that it must be very easy for the students to get good marks in this section.
This section could be called not so difficult and not so easy. The difficulty level as per the experts was moderate. Questions included fill in the blanks, Synonyms/Antonyms, error Detection questions etc. Another important part of the English section was the Reading Comprehension. The reading comprehension included 3 paragraph based questions of 3 marks each.
Mathematics section could be called very easy as per the views of the experts. With simple understanding of some basic concepts, students can easily bag good marks. However, according to some students, this section was a little tough than the previous year. The questions asked in the mathematics section included Time and work-based questions, Ration and proportion, Profit and loss based questions, Time and distance questions and 1 or 2 questions were average based.
So here comes the most important section of the AFCAT 02/18 exam, the reasoning section. Speaking of this section, the experts realized that the section was also not very difficult but required the student’s concentration. Questions asked in this section included Venn diagram, Misclenious Questions, Odd one Out based questions, Analogy and Completing the Figures based questions. 32 questions were asked in this section. Each question carried 3 marks which make this section of 96 marks.
Students felt that the reasoning section to be not so difficult and not so bad but felt that some questions in the mathematics section were a little difficult as compared to the previous year.
