Central Board of Secondary Education conducts the National Eligibility Test to determine eligibility for Lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). CBSE has notified the dates for NET 2017. This year examination is going to be held on November 5, 2017. Interested candidates may register themselves for the examination form 11 August 2017. The candidates who will appear in National Eligibility Test must know the syllabus to prepare for the examination. The syllabus and examination pattern will help the students to know more about the syllabus and topics covered in it. All the students who will appear for the examination must check the complete syllabus before start preparing for NET 2017.
CBSE NET 2017 syllabus will be released by University Grants Commission. The syllabus will be available on the official website of UGC at ugc.ac.in National Eligibility Test is conducted by CBSE in 84 subjects. There is different syllabus for each subject. The link to download the syllabus for each subject will be available here. In this article, candidate will know about the examination pattern, scheme to the test, criteria for result determination and tips to prepare for NET 2017.
Scheme of NET 2017
The National Eligibility Test (November) 2017 will consist of three papers which include paper I, II and III. All the papers will contain multiple choice questions (MCQ’s). The examination is going to be held on November 5, 2017 (Sunday) The pattern for the test such as number of questions, duration, marks are mentioned below in the table. Before checking the syllabus for the subjects, candidates must know the exam pattern.

Paper I– Paper I will be a generic paper, which will test the teaching/ research aptitude of the candidate. It will be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. The paper will contain 50 compulsory objective type questions carrying 2 marks each.
Paper II– Paper II will be based on the subject selected by the candidate. It will contain 50 compulsory objective type of questions. Each question will be of 2 marks.
Paper III– It will be will consisting of 75 objective type compulsory questions from the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry 2 marks.
Syllabus of CBSE NET 2017
The National Eligibility Test will be conducted in 84 subjects. Candidates can choose the subject of their choice while filling the application form of NET 2017.
