1st step: Visit the official website upsc.gov.in. The direct link to fill UPSC IAS application form is provided above.
2nd step: Scroll a little to get ‘apply online’ link. Click on that.
3rd step: On the new page, 2 links to fill the application form is displayed. Candidates have to click on ‘online application form various examination’.
4th step: Hereafter, click on ‘online application for various examination of UPSC’.
5th step: Link to apply for UPSC Civil services and Indian Forest Services is displayed on the screen. Start by clicking on Paper I.
– Providing basic details
6th step: Read all the important instructions which include image specifications, mode of fee submission, editing incorrect details, and other information.
7th step: After reading the important instructions, click on the ‘yes’ button to proceed for the application form.
8th step: Next part is registration. Candidates have to enter the following details for IAS registration.

- UPSC carries out the process for the allotment of centres on first apply first allot basis. A centre is allotted to only a limited number of candidates except for Chennai, Dispur, Kolkata and Nagpur. Once the capacity of number of candidates is full, the centre is frozen.
