Tick tock.. The clock is ticking down to the big day – Your NDA exam!

All the defence aspirants out there who are sweating it out over the upcoming NDA 2020 exam, which is the UPSC NDA & NA (I) 2020, no pressure, but just two months are left for the exam. We are sure you are gearing up to give your best. And to do our bit for our future defence forces, the humble lot who are going to serve the nation by joining our esteemed forces, we bring forth some very helpful tips, for NDA 2020 preparation.

NDA 2020 Last 2 Months Preparation Strategy

#1 Practice Previous Year Question Papers of NDA:

It may sound very familiar or a common tip, but it is very important for the candidates to refer previous years question papers. Firstly, this proves to be the best preparation material, secondly it gives an idea of what all are the important questions. Also, there are high chances that many questions of the same type (not verbose repeat) might be asked again. Isn’t it going to be the icing on the cake for the ones who have prepared from previous years question papers of NDA. As, they won’t take much time to solve such questions.

Important to Remember: Do not refer the question papers before 2009, because the syllabus before that was completely different.

#2 Mathematics can guarantee you full marks, practice it

Mathematics is the only subject that ensures full marks, if solved properly. Candidates should focus ideal attention to Maths and dedicate maximum of their time, practicing it. Understand the weightage of each topic and plan a strategy accordingly. Around 45-50 questions comes from calculus and trigonometry, including all the topics be it inverse, height and distance or the ratio of trignometry. So, now candidates know where their focus should be.

As per an ex-NDA cleared candidate, you should study well from NCERT Mathematics of class 11th and 12th. Plus, the following topics.

  • Binary and decimal conversion
  • Cube root of unity and omega type questions
  • Logarithm
  • Logical reasoning
  • Special cases of matrix
  • Solution of triangle
  • Quadratic eqation and root of the equations (class 10)

#3 Stick To The Syllabus (Get It Here) and True To Yourself

Be true to yourself! We are saying this because, candidates preparing NDA 2020 should know the complete syllabus, and from it, what are their weak points and where their strengths lie. Accordingly they should create a study plan. Importance should be given to the topics that candidates know they are good at. Do not leave the sections which are not strong, keep them aside and read them whenever candidate has time. Skipping a topic completely is not suggested at all.

Tips for GAT: Do prepare the following topics

  • A basic Outline of concepts in class 12th Physics and Chemistry
  • Constitutional rights and Law/Acts
  • Important dates
  • India’s Geographical Diversities
  • India’s independence movement
  • Latest developments in military
  • Operations and collaborations of India Military
  • Recent film award winner
  • Recent sport events place held, winner, best player
  • War cry or slogans of different organization.

#4 Make a Feasible Time Table

Creating a time table is the crucial part of the preparation. Candidates generally make a mistake while doing so. Either they create a time-table where they do not leave a gap for some refreshment or free time, or they compromise with their revision time. We strongly suggests that both these aspects should be the ruling factor of the time-table. Long study hours only create tiredness and impact the learning effiicency. Same way learning without revision is of no use.

Remember: You should revise PCM, GAT in the last 2 months, and take at least 5-6 mock tests.

#5 Keep Faith in what you Prepare

See this is the human tendency that we are never satisfied with what we have and same applies to our studies and exam prepartion. But need of an hour is to be confident and hopeful that we are best at whatever we have prepared. This might seems to be a simple thing, but believe us this can helps a lot in NDA 2020 preparation.

This is going to be the exam pattern for the upcoming UPSC NDA & NA (I) 2020 Exam

No. of papers: 2
Names of papers: Maths, GAT

Maths

No. of Qs: 120
Marks: 300
Time: 2.5 hours

GAT

No. of Qs: 150
Marks: 600
Time: 2.5 hours

We are sure you will do great in the exam. Keep working hard.

2 Months is not less time. You have 60 days! Your sole target should be getting better every day.

And remember, if you are stuck on a topic, then you should seek out help. It can be such as teachers, mentors, or even your friends.

Also do download your NDA admit card 2020 before the exam. You will need it on the exam day. 🙂
