The Intelligence Bureau which operates under the aegis of the Ministry of Home Affairs had invited applications for the recruitment in Intelligence Bureau 2017. The application was for the post of Junior Technical Officers. The exam was conducted in form of a written test for the post of Junior Intelligence Officers Grade-II (Technical) 2017 on 16th October. The online application had begun from 3rd September 2016 and the last date to apply was 24th September 2016. The MHA IB JIO RESULTS 2017 has been announced of written exam.

The written test was successfully conducted on the mentioned date and the result for MHA IB 2017 has been released on 17 Mar 2017. After the results are announced the candidates are able to download their admit cards for the trade test sent to them through the email provided by the candidates. Description of Examination

Written examination – (OMR based)

  1. Paper‐I:  Objective Type will include multiple choice questions on topics from General  Studies / Awareness, Numerical Ability, Science, Reasoning, etc.

The students will be required to complete the written part within 2 hrs. Of duration total marks allotted to paper, I is 80 marks.

  1. Paper‐II: Descriptive Paper (Matric level)

The topics can come from the following sections:-

  1. English  comprehension,
  2. English  grammar:-antonyms,  synonyms,  one  word  substitution, etc.
  3. Elementary mathematics and science.

Total marks allotted to paper II is 80 marks.


Trade test  

The  trade  test  would  be  practical  based  &  technical.The total marks allotted to this part is 40 marks

Results for MHA IB JIO 2017 Written Test

As the candidates who appeared for the examination wait curiously for the results of IB JIO-II, they are hereby informed that the result has been declared of written exam. The direct link to check result is given below.

On the basis of written examination held on 16th October 2016 for the post of Junior Intelligence Officer Grade-II/Technical in IB, the candidates have been shortlisted for the trade test, scheduled to be conducted from 10th Apr to 26th Apr 2017 at New Delhi.

Call letters for the trade test (indicating date, time and venue and relevant instructions) would be sent at the Email ID (provided by the candidates at the time of online registration) in due course. The shortlisted candidates are requested to bring along duly filled in Attestation form and SSQ in triplicate, which would also be sent along with the call letter.

Selection Procedure For MHA IB JIO 2016-2017

The candidates will be required to appear for written examination on the prescribed date. The written test will be conducted in two papers namely Paper-I and Paper-II. The list of the test centres is available in advertisement. For Paper-II only the candidates will be called if they qualify Paper-I with a certain amount of marks as decided by MHA. After the evaluation their combined performance in Paper-I and Paper-II, a separate list will be prepared for the shortlisted candidates and further called the trade test.

The date, place and time of the examination would be intimated to the candidates at their email ID. if the candidates do not receive their admit cards by mail, they can also download the admit card following the steps guided down below in the “HOW TO DOWNLOAD ADMIT CARD” section discussed above.

Post the successful completion of the written test and the trade test, the candidates will be selected subject to the final step of the recruitment which is denoted by Ministry of Home affairs as “Character and Antecedent verification”. The process will follow a medical examination as well.. The medical examination is necessary as to see if the candidate will be available to provide his services for longer duration without any medical emergency.

However, the trade test may not be conducted at the test centre as chosen by you. The place may change therefore note down the venue carefully.
