Manipur TET — the Teacher Eligibility Test for Manipur — is conducted by the Directorate of Education (Schools), Government of Manipur. It is a qualifying test that a person must pass to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in the state's schools, under the Right to Education Act and NCTE guidelines. It is held in two papers:
- Paper I — for those who intend to teach classes I to V (Primary stage).
- Paper II — for those who intend to teach classes VI to VIII (Middle stage).
A candidate who intends to teach at both levels sits both papers. Only domiciles of Manipur can apply.
Manipur TET 2026 update
The online application last date for TET Paper-I and Paper-II has been extended to 9 August 2026. Candidates apply through tet2026manedus.com (linked from the department site manipureducation.gov.in). The examination is on Sunday, 11 October 2026 (Paper-I 10:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m., Paper-II 1:30–4:00 p.m.); admit cards have been available on the portal since 17 September 2026, and centre-wise roll-number allotment was notified on 6 October 2026. Applicants who had already applied for Paper-II do not need to reapply.
