Indian Navy released the notification on June 01, 2018 for Conducting Indian Navy Artificer Apprentice (AA) in February 2019 batch. In this context, the Application form has been released on June 02, 2018. The Application Form will last up to June 15, 2018. Candidates who are between 17 to 23 years and have qualified Higher Secondary can apply for the Post. Only male and Unmarried Candidates are eligible. In order to apply the candidates have to register themselves first and submit the Application fee on time.
The selection in naval branch of the Indian Armed Forces is not Bed of Roese, the candidates have to undergo the toughest selection process which comprises of Computer Based Examination, Physical Fitness Test, followed by Medical examination. Eligibility Criteria for Indian Navy Artificer Apprentice (AA)
Only Male Unmarried Candidate is eligible to Apply.
Nationality: Only Indian Citizen is eligible to apply.
Age Limit: The age for Artificer Apprentice candidate should be between 17-20 years on the day of enrolment. That means the Date of Birth of the Candidate should between February 01, 1999 to January 31, 2002.
Educational Qualification: The candidates who are willing to apply should have Qualified in 10+2 examination with 60% or more marks in aggregate with Maths & Physics from a recognized Board. Or he has studied any one of the subjects Chemistry/Biology/Computer science in 10+2.

- Permanent Body Tattoos –Tattoos are the primary concern when you are applying for the most privileged Services in Country. Tattoos in the inner body parts such as the inner face of forearms i.e from inside of elbow to the wrist and on the reversed side of palm/ back (dorsal) side of the hand. However, Permanent Boddy Tattoos are not allowed in any other body part except for this.
- Minimum Height, Weight & Chest Expansion – The Male candidate should have minimum Height 157 cms and proportionate weight. The Minimum chest expansion of 5 cms is mandatory.

The Application Form for Indian Navy Artificer Apprentice is online at the official website of Indian Navy at www.joinindiannavy.gov.in. Those who will satisfy all above-mentioned Criteria is eligible to apply. The candidates can apply through the official website, or they can do the same form this page as well. For doing so they have to click on the “Application Form” link in the Quick Link section. As a direct link to the Application Form is available on that page.
The candidates have only one option for filling the Application Form. They can do the same only for online, Indian Navy Doesn’t provide any secondary method for same. In order to apply the candidates have to pay the appropriate Application Fee along with the Application Form.
The Application Fee / Examination Fee for Indian Navy is Rs. 106/- (Rupees One hundred six only) for Unreserved candidates. The candidates belonging to SC /ST category are not required to submit an Application Fee.
Mode of Submitting Application Fee is Online. Candidates can make payment online through Visa/ Master/ RuPay Credit/ Debit Card/ UPI Application.
Admit Card for Indian Navy Artificer Apprentice (AA)
Once Application Process overs, Indian Navy will issue the Admit Card to those candidates who will fill the Applications on time. There is two test in selection process excluding Medical examination. The first test of the Selection process is Computer Based Test, and the second one is Physical Fitness Test. Indian Navy will issue the Admit Card for both of the tests separately. The candidates who will fill the Applications on time will able to download the Admit Card for CBE form the official website of India Navy i.e. www.joinindiannavy.gov.in. The only mode of getting the Admit card is online because Indian Navy doesn’t send any Admit Card to Candidates. Pattern for Computer Based Examination
As the name suggests the first test of recruitment is Online Computer Based Test. The test has 100 Objective type Question. There is four section so qualifying each section in CBE is mandatory for the Candidates. Let’s understand the whole thing in a shorter way.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
Qualifying in Physical Fitness Test is mandatory for selection. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk. PFT will consist of
- 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes
- 20 squat ups (Uthak Baithak) and 10 Push-ups.
Additional Preferences: Proficiency in sports, swimming, and extra-curricular activities are desirable.

Result of Indian Navy Artificer Apprentice (AA)
Indian Navy will release the result in two stages, firstly after conduction of CBE, secondly after conduction of PFT. Indian Navy will release the result on its official website i.e. www.joinindiannavy.gov.in. Those who will appear in CBE can check their result from the official website. In order to check the result, the candidates will require the login credentials. The only mode of chceking the result is online. Candidates can get the direct link to results on “Result Page of Aglasem”.
After Medical Examination, Traning and Initial Engagement
Once Indian Navy Declares the final result cum Merit list, the finally selected candidates have to appear for Medical Examination in INS Chilka. Those who will found fit in the medical examination will be enrolled. The rest of the candidates who disqualify during the Medical Examination can appeal against its findings if they so desire, at INHS Kalyani, Visakhapatnam within a maximum period of 21 days.
After Medical Examination Those who will found Medically Fit will get the Confirmation Letter for Initial Training. The Training for the course will commence in February 2019, with 09 weeks Basic Training at INS Chilka followed by Professional training in the allotted trade in various Naval Training Establishments.
At the end of Succesful Traning, the candidates will get the Initial Engagement of Service. During the period of time, the candidates whose performance will not be up to the mark will be discharged as “UNSUITABLE” due to unsatisfactory performance at any time during the training.
Note: Before Medical Examination Candidates are advised to get their ears cleaned for wax, and tartar removed from teeth
Pay Scale and Prerequisite of Indian Navy Artificer Apprentice (AA)
The Pay Scale of the candidates after selection would be a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month during the period of Traning. After Completion of initial training, Trainees will be placed in Level 3 of the Defence
Pay Matrix (₹ 21,700- ₹69,100). In addition to the basic pay, the Officers will get MSP @ ₹ 5200/- plus ‘X’ Group Pay @ Rs 6200/- + Additional Dearness Allowance.
During the service, those who will serve extraordinarily will get the promotion exist up to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer-I, i.e. Level 8 of the Defence Pay Matrix (₹ 47,600- ₹ 1,51,100) plus MSP @ ₹ 5200/- plus ‘X’ Group Pay @ Rs 6200/- per month plus Dearness Allowance (as applicable).
As a prerequisite, the Sailors will get the Books, reading material, uniforms, food, and accommodation etc. free of cost. Sailor is entitled with these following benefits

- Leave Travel Concessions for self and dependents,
- Group Housing Benefits and other privileges.
- Annual and Casual Leave
- Children Education and House Rent Allowances
- Post-retirement benefits include pension
- Gratuity and Leave Encashment.
This is one of the most privileged benefits the Officers will get. Insurance cover (on contribution) of Rs. 41 lakhs for submariners and Rs. 37.50 lakhs for other sailors is applicable.
