PGCIL Diploma Trainee Application Form 2016
Before registering and submitting their PGCIL Diploma Trainee Application Form 2016 on the website the candidate should possess the following :-
- E-mail ID and Mobile no.
- Scanned copy of recent passport size colour photograph with white back ground. (Size – 20KB to 50KB)
- Scanned signature (Size – 10KB to 20KB)
Candidates should apply only through online registration system of POWERGRID. Candidates are advised must ensure their Eligibility and other condition before filling the Application Form.
Candidates can apply only for any of the post, as examination will be held on the same day for all Posts.

Eligibility Criteria
Final year/ Semester Students of academic session of 2016-17 who are waiting for their final results are also eligible to apply provided they have secured required percentage of marks or equivalent CGPA in aggregate of all semesters/years up to their pre final examination as on 16.08.2016. Such candidates have to submit the final mark sheet at the time of joining (if shortlisted); otherwise their candidature shall be summarily rejected.
For the Post of Jr Technician Trainee (Electrical): The candidate must be physically fit to work on difficult terrain and to climb towers for carrying out maintenance duties on the towers and conductors.
PGCIL Diploma Trainee Admit Card 2016
The PGCIL Diploma Trainee Admit Card 2016 indicating Roll Number, Name of the allocated Test Centre and guidelines for the test will be made available on official website to the candidates found apparently eligible based on the online application form submitted.

Candidates will have to choose the test centre nearest to their address for communication and no change will be allowed subsequently. Admission to the test will be on production of Admit Card. Candidates have to download their Admit Cards through our application portal. Admit Card will not be sent by Post. POWERGRID reserves the right to change/cancel test centres
PGCIL Diploma Trainee Exam Pattern
Written Test shall be of Objective (each question shall have four answer options) Type of two hours duration consisting of two parts:
Part-I consists of Professional Knowledge Test with 120 questions having specific questions of respective discipline. E.g.-If the Candidate has applied for Diploma Trainee (Electrical) then question shall be from Electrical discipline.
Part-II consists of Supervisory Aptitude Test for Diploma Trainee (Electrical/Civil/Electronics and Communication) and General Aptitude Test for Junior Technician Trainee(Electrical)/Chemist with 50 questions on vocabulary, verbal comprehension, quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability, ability to determine data sufficiency, interpretation of graphs/charts/tables, numerical ability etc.
All questions carry equal marks (1 mark). Wrong and multiple answers would result in negative marks of 1/4.
Question paper will be in bilingual except questions of English language Test

Candidates qualifying Written Test for Chemist and Jr. Technician Trainee (Electrical) shall be shortlisted for Trade Test on merit basis in Written Examination.
Final Merit for selection of all posts will be decided based on marks secured by the candidates in Written Test (100% Weightage). Trade Test for post of Chemist and Jr Technician Trainee (Electrical) will be in qualifying nature only. Trade test will not have any weightage for calculation of Final Scores.
