Latest Notice – It is informed to all applicants that the Hon’ble Punjab and Haryana High Court has stayed the process for recruitment to the post of jail warder with reference to advt dated 08.11.2016 till 19.01.2017 (next date of hearing). Hence, the admit cards for PMT / PST are not being issued now. Further process of recruitment will be carried out after decision of the Hon’ble High Court. (Notified here).

The online application form can be filled up from 9.00 am, 08 Nov 2016 till 11.59 [, pm 28 Nov 2016 on website www.punjabpolicerecruitment.in. Candidates are advised to apply online well in advance without waiting for the last date of submission of online Application form. The candidates should sumit Single Online Application Form for the post of Jail Warders (Male) / Matrons (Female). The recruitment process would start at all Recruitment Centres (which will be informed to the candidates later) at the same time on the same date. However, if somehow, the candidate manages to submit multiple online applications, only his/her first application shall be entertained. Fee paid against one application shall not be adjusted against any other applications.

How to Apply?

  • The Application Form shall only be available online on the website www.punjabpolicerecruitment.in.
  • For registration, he/she will click on “Click Here to Apply” from above or from the official website.
  • Candidates needs to fill all the fields in the Registration Form. The fields marked with (*) are compulsory to fill.
  • After all the fields in the Registration form are filled, the candidates has to click on ‘submit’ button.
  • After submitted his/her registration, a Registration ID & Password will be created.
  • Candidates needs to upload his Photograph & Signature and scanned copies of the age, education qualification, category (if any) and other required certificates.
  • After this he/she will preview & confirm all the details that he/she had filled up, tick all the declarations & then submit the application, by clicking on Submit Application.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality – The applicant/candidate should be a citizen of India.
Age Limit- The minimum age (as on 01.01.2016) for recruitment of Warder/Matron should be 18 years and max age should be 25 years.

Educational Qualification

  • The minimum educational qualifications shall be 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognized education Board/University. The candidate must have also passed Matriculation examination with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects or any other equivalent examination in Punjabi language.
  • However, in case of Ex-Servicemen, the minimum educational qualifications shall be Matriculation. Provided that if the Ex-Servicement (or the wife / dependent child of Ex-Servicemen, as the case may be) has not passed Matriculation examination with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects, he shall have to pass an examination of Punjabi language equivalent to Matriculation standard or he shall have to qualify a test conducted by the Language Wing of the Department of Education of the PUnjab Government within a period of two years from the date of his appointment as per Punjab Government notification.

Reservation of Seats

According to instructions issued by the Punjab Government from time to time, 20% of available vacancies will stand reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes, 10% for candidates belonging to Backward Classes, 13% for Ex-Servicemen candidates Or wife/one dependent child of Ex-Servicemen (where applicable) [7% Ex-servicemen (General), 4% Ex-Servicemen (SC), 2% Ex-servicemen (BC)] and 1% seats for wards for freedom fighters.

Punjab Police Warder Recruitment 2016 – Admit Card

Applications with prescribed fee shall be received online. The information once submitted online by the candidates shall be final. Multiple applications from the same candidate will not be entertained.

Roll numbers shall be allotted to the eligible candidates and Bar-coded Admit Cards will be available for download on the recruitment website of the Punjab Police website www.punjabpolicerecruitment.in tentatively in the 2nd week of Dec 2016.

Punjab Police Warder Recruitment 2016 – Result

The central Recruitment Board shall submit the Selection List, as described in the ab ove para, to Additional Director General of Police, Prisons, Punjab for approval. After the final approval of ADGP/Prisons, the Selection lists shall be released in the public domain on the Punjab Police official website.

List of successful candidates

All Recruitment Boards will send list of successful candidates in PMT/PST to the Chairperson of the Central Recruitment Board who shall prepare a consolidated list on the basis of the lists sent by Chairpersons of the Recruitment Boards.

The Chairperson of the Central Recruitment Board shall prepare a Final Merit List of all candidates on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates for:

  • Height and
  • Educational Qualifications

Finally, Chairperson of the Central Recruitment Board would prepare the Selection lists, category-wise (by factoring in laid down reservations for various categories), on the basis of the Final Merit list and the category-wise number of vacancies.

Punjab Police Warder Recruitment 2016 – Selection Process

Recruitment Boards under the overall supervision of the Central Recruitment Board shall conduct the recruitments for Jail Warders (Male)/Matrons (Female). The Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and the Physical Screening Test (PST) of a candidate shall be conducted on a single day, and the entire process for each candidates shall be got video-graphed. The candidates will be assigned the nearest Recruitment Centre for PMT and PST. Only candidates who clear the PMT and PST will be enlisted based on the merit list.

Only those candidates who fulfill the requisite minimum and maxmimum age and educational qualificiations shall be screened in the Physical Measurement Test. All such eligible candidates who have beend found to be of requisite height and chest measurement will qulify to be put through the Physical Screening Test (PST).

Physical Screening Test

Only those candidates who clear the Physical Measurement Test will be put through the Physical Screening Test, which shall be of a qualifying nature and shall comprise of the following events:

  • High Jump : Min 0.95 meters (3 chances)

Provisional Selection

The selection through the recruitment process will be absolutely provisional, and it shall be subject to the following mandatory clearances:

Verification of educational qualification certificates from the concerned Boards/ Universities.
Verification of proof of age.
Verification of other applicable certificates.
Character and antecedents verifications, and
Medical Examination

Medical Examination

Before their enlistment in Prison department the candidates shall have to be medically examined and certified physically fit for service (including normal vision in both eyes (with or without spectacles), must not be colour blind or drug addict) by the Civil Surgeon / Medical Board constituted for this purpose.
