RRB JE Selection Process
RRB JE Selection Process 2019 is divided into four stages.
- CBT 1
- CBT 2
- Document Verification
- Medical Verification
CBT 1– The Computer Based Test in the first stage is a screening test. It determines the selection of candidates for the Second Stage or the CBT 2. CBT 1 results are published in the form of a Merit List. The Merit List displays the Roll Numbers of the candidates in an ascending order. CBT 1 is held in 15 languages and the default language is English. This stage of the exam deals with the non-technical portion.
CBT 2- The Computer Based Test in the second stage is conducted to determine the final Merit List. Candidates, who qualify CBT 1 have to take CBT 2 and then only they can move further in the Selection process. CBT 2 covers Technical part of the exam majorly and the technical part is decided as per the post applied by the candidate in the Application Form. After Normalization of Marks, which results in a Merit Index, a Merit List is generated.
Document Verification- The Selection Process isn’t complete until the candidate submits documents proving eligibility, qualification and category claims(where applicable). The Document Verification(DV) is done on assigned days and no extension is entertained. A candidate can only submit the required documents on the day of DV. The Document Verification process also involves candidates belonging to the “Standby List”, candidates who are called to fill in vacancies, if the selected candidates don’t join the respective posts.
Medical Verification- A candidate needs to fulfill certain medical standards to get selected. The Medical Standards range from A1 to C3, depending upon the vision of a candidate, some posts require excellent vision so the minimum Medical Standard is set at A3. If a candidate fails to meet the Medical Standards, then the candidature is canceled. The Medical Standards are laid down by the Indian Railways.
