RRB JE Selection Process 2019 – It is essential to know RRB JE 2019 Selection Process before hand. The candidates can start preparing for all the stages of recruitment accordingly. RRB Junior Engineer recruitment 2019 is open for 14033 vacancies. These will be filled through a 4 step selection process, which includes 2 CBT, Document Verification, and Medical Examination. RRB JE Selection Process 2019
There will be an online exam in two stages for RRB JE 2019, the first stage will be a screening test while the Second Stage will determine the Final Merit List. The stages of Railway Recruitment Board Junior Engineer Recruitment 2019 includes following steps
- RRB JE 2019 CBT-1 Examination
- RRB JE 2019 CBT-2 Examination
- RRB JE 2019 Documents Verification
- RRB JE 2019 Medical Examination
RRB JE CBT 1 2019
RRB JE 2019 Computer Based Test(CBT 1) will have Multiple Choice Questions(MCQs) . A candidate needs to qualify the RRB JE CBT 1 2019 Exam to appear for the second stage of the CBT. Candidates, who qualify CBT 1 will have their Roll Numbers displayed in the Merit List, which will be published on the official website of various RRBs. Information about the exam pattern is given below
Number of Questions and Time Limit-
- There will be 100 Multiple Choice Questions in the examination.
- A time period of 90 minutes will be given to complete the test
- There will be a negative marking of 1/3 out of the total marks for each wrong answer.
The First Stage of RRB JE CBT will not contain the Technical portion. The Exam will be divided into four sections- Mathematics, General Science, General Awareness and General Intelligence and Reasoning. Each Question will carry 1 mark. Following is the Questions distribution.

RRB JE CBT 2 2019
Candidates, who qualify the RRB JE CBT 1 2019 will then have to take CBT 2. Like CBT 1, CBT 2 will be a MCQs(Multiple Choice Questions) type examination. A final Merit List will then be published on the basis of RRB CBT 2 2019 exam. Candidates, whose roll numbers appear in the Merit List after qualifying the RRB JE CBT 2 will then have to go through a Document Verification Process. - There are 150 Questions in total
- The time Limit for RRB JE CBT 2 is 120 minutes
- There is Negative Marking and 1/3 of the marks are deducted for each wrong answer
- Canddiates can also use the virtual calculator in the CBT stage 2 examination.

RRB JE 2019 Document Verification
The candidates who secured their names in the Merit List have to appear in a Document Verification process. The candidates should bring a Character Certificate, a document regarding the proof of Date of Birth and the proof of Degree to complete the verification. A candidate must submit all the documents on the day of Document Verification, no extra time is allowed by RRB to submit the documents. RRB JE 2019 Medical Examination
In order to get the appointment letter from the Chief Personnel Officer of the Zonal Railways, one needs to pass through a Medical Examination. Following is the categorization of the fitness standards
(a) A-3: Physically fit all respects. Visual Standards-Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/9 with or without glasses (Power of lenses not to exceed 2D). Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses and must pass test for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Field of Vision & Night Vision.
(b) B-1: Physically fit in all respects, Visual Standards-Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (power of lenses not to exceed 4D). Near Vision: Sn.0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or close work is required and must pass test for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Field of Vision & Night Vision.
(c) B-2: Physically fit in all respects Visual standards-Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (power not to exceed 4D). Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or close work is required and must pass test for Field of Vision.
(d) C-1: Physically fit in all respects. Visual Standards-Distance Vision: 6/12, 6/18 with or without glasses. Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or close work is required.

RRB JE Standby candidates and Tie-breaker
Selected candidates are called for the Document Verification after the Second Stage of CBT. Apart from the selected candidates, a standby list will be prepared for the candidates, who are next in the merit List. This list is made of upto 50% of the notified vacancies. The standby list fills the vacancies, where the selected candidates are not joining or there is a shortfall while filling the vacancies.
In case of a tie, following criteria will be applicable
- Older person is placed higher on the Merit List
- If the age is same then the alphabetical order of the names determine the selection.
