RRC Group D Recruitment 2017 has to be the most awaited Indian Railway Recruitment of the year. It is expected that more than 3 lakh posts are vacant in railway right now and out of these, nearly 2.5 lakh is for the Group C and Group D positions. The figures came to light at a Rajya Sabha discussion where, in response to Unstarred Question No-1264, the Ministry of Railway disclosed that there are 225823 vacancies, in various Departments of Zonal Railways. Release of RRC Group D Recruitment 2017 Notification
The biggest question so far is when will be the official notification for RRC Group D 2017 Recruitment released? Well, as per the news paper reports, the notice will be provided in the month of September 2017. However, Indian Railway has not released any official notification supporting the claim in the reports but it is expected that the notice will be provided soon. Some facts about RRC Group D 2017 Notification are as below:
- All the zones of RRC might release a separate notice for Group D 2017 recruitment.
- Each notice will be distinguished by an Employment Notice Number which will be EEN – 01/2017.
RRC Group D Exam Date
The actual exam dates will be announced when the notification for the recruitment will release. However, before this, the Group D recruitment was done in the year 2014. Then, the examination was held in the month of November.
To accommodate such huge number of entrants, RRC conducted the examination in a window of multiple days, from November 02 to 30, 2017. To appear in the exam, the candidates were called in alphabetical order of their name. As soon as the dates will be announced, it will be uploaded in the table below:

Post in Railway and Recruitment
The staff in railway is divided into Group A, B, C, and D. The recruitment for the A Group is done by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). However, the post for Group B is filled by RRB. The responsibility to fill the vacancies under Group C and D is with the Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC). Further lower level posts are filled via RRB NTPC.

Selection Procedure of RRC Group C and D 2017 Recruitment
The selection of the candidates will be done on the basis merit list. The merit of the candidates will be allocated on the basis of:
- Performance in the written examination, followed by the Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Once the candidates have secured a suitable merit, they will be called for document verification and might also be called for the medical round.
Competition and Job Prospect in RRC Group C and D Recruitment
Under RRB NTPC, over 90 lakh candidates applied for 18252 vacancies. So, the candidates can now imagine how many will apply for the 2.5 lakh post. This might seem like one of the biggest recruitment by railway of India. However, many are not aware of the fact that Indian Railway is the 4th largest recruiter in India, which has the employee strength of more than 1 million.

RRC Group D 2017 Eligibility Criteria
The criteria for eligibility have to be satisfied in order to be recruited. The details criteria of eligibility will be announced soon. However, until then the candidates may check the minimum requirements to become eligible for the current Railway Recruitment 2017-18.
Age Limit: Candidates must have completed 18 years of age. The upper age limit may differ from post to post and zone to zone.
Education Qualification – The candidates must have qualified class 10 or ITI or equivalent. The qualification must have been obtained from a recognized institute. However, this is only the minimum qualification, candidates pursuing higher education may also apply.
Railway RRC Group D Recruitment 2017 Application Process
Application Process – The application form for the Railway Recruitment of Group D and C will be provided online. The candidates will be able to fill and submit the details from each of zonal website. In the application form, the candidates will have to submit the educational, personal, and other details.
Mandatory Requirements – The candidates will need the following to submit the application form successfully:
- E-mail Id
- Mobile Number
- Aadhaar Number
Indian Railway has announced the mandation of Aadhaar Number to apply for any post. Hence, while submitting the Railway Group D Vacancy Online Application Form the candidates will also need it. However, it should be noted that that the candidates from Assam, Meghalaya, and Jammu & Kashmir will be exempted from this compulsion because the Govt. of India has not issued the Aadhaar Card in these states. The candidates from these states will be able to apply via PAN Card, Passport, Voter ID Card, etc mediums.
Application Fee – The application fee for the examination is was Rs. 100 in 2014, when the examination was held last time. The amount of fee might increase now. However, nothing can be confirmed until the notice is released. The candidates will be able to submit the amount via Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, etc.
Railway Group D Admit Card
It is expected that this year the entire recruitment of RRC 2017 Group D will be done online. If so, then the admit card for the candidates also be issued online. The candidates will be able to download it from the official website of each zone. It will be an absolute necessity to carry the RRC Group D admit card 2017 on the exam day. Else, the candidates will not be allowed to take the examination.
Group D Result 2017
The result of RRC Group D recruitment will also be released online. The candidates selected for the written examination will be called for the PET. Then, on the basis of candidate’s performance in written exam and PET, the merit will be allocated to them.
Pay Scale in RRC Group D Recruitment
Last time, the Grade Pay under Railway Group D 2017 Recruitment was Rs. 1800. However, apart from this, numerous other benefits were also included in the pay scale. It is expected that this year it might be increased a little.
Such can be predicted because it has been constantly increasing. In the year 2012-13 to 2013-14, the average wage per employee increased by 11.6%. How to Prepare for RRC Group D Exam 2017
The written examination of Group D 2017 Recruitment will consist of multiple choice questions. These will be asked from Mathematics, General Knowledge, General Awareness, Reasoning and etc. The level of the questions will be that of the class 10th. Hence, the candidates are advised to study the basic topics in each subject.
As far as the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is considered, the male and female candidates will be assessed on the basis of their physical stamina and running ability. The candidates will have to run certain miles to display both. Hence, it is advised that the candidates start running every day, first doing it for short distance in low speed and then moving on to longer runs with high speed.
