RRCBBS GDCE 2019 – The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) has released the notification for 310 posts in General Departmental Competitive Examination (GDCE) for the serving railway employees of East Coast Railway. The posts are of Junior Clerk-Cum-Typist, Technician-III, Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk, Goods Guard, Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Signal & Telecom) in Level – 2, 3, 5 & 6 of 7th CPC over East Coast Railway. RRCBBS GDCE 2019
The applicant should be a serving regular (permanent) employee (except RPF personnel) in East Coast Railway. Candidates can apply for a post in a grade (grade pay) higher than the post that he/she currently holds on regular/substantive basis. They can also apply for a post with the same grade (grade pay) than what he/she currently holds on substantive basis provided he/she is willing to appear in selection for GDCE from Non-Safety to Safety category posts as well as Safety to Safety category posts. Age Limit: The maximum age limit for appearing in the GDCE will be 42 years for General candidates, 45 years for OBC candidates and 47 for SC/ST candidates reckoned as on the date of notification.
Application Form
The application form for RRCBBS GDCE 2019 was released on the official website of East Coast Railway. The applications were registered online by filling up the required details in the prescribed format available in the website of RRC/BBS i.e. http://www.rrcbbs.org.in. The application has to be filled up carefully duly following the steps and instructions, as provided on the website.

How to apply
- Go to Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) , Bhubaneswar website http://www.rrcbbs.org.in.
- Click on General Departmental Competitive Examination (GDCE) – Online application.
- Click on the “New Registration” link available on the home page.
- Fill up the required details such as Name, Date of Birth, E-mail Address, Aadhaar No. and Mobile number, department and posts being applied, etc
- Follow the instructions and complete the registration process step-by-step for generating a Registration Number & Password for the login.
- After filling up the details and reading the declaration, Click on the FINAL SUBMIT button. On final submission the employees may check all the details and may edit if required and confirm.
- After submission of application by the applicant, he/she has to upload the confirmation page duly countersigned by the controlling officer with his official stamp.
Admit Card
Candidates will be able to download the Call Letters one week before the day of the CBT. Eligible candidates should log in at the link provided on RRC website using Registration Number and DOB, download the E-ADMIT CARD and take a printout. Candidates must bring their E-ADMIT CARDS duly obtaining the signature of the concerned supervisor/controlling Officer in the space provided on the E-ADMIT CARD, while appearing for the Computer Based Test (CBT).
RRC will not entertain any request for any change in examination centre allotted to eligible candidates.
Selection Procedure
The selection for the posts notified in this Notification will be by Computer Based Test (CBT). The questions set in the Computer Based Test (CBT) will be of Multiple Choice Objective Type. The question paper will be set in English & Hindi. The candidates have to give preference any one of the above-mentioned language while submitting the ONLINE application.
Typing Skill Test (TST): For the posts Junior Clerk cum Typist, Typing Skill Test (TST) of qualifying nature (marks obtained in typing skill test shall not be added for making merit) shall be conducted for which the number of candidates equal to eight times the number of vacancies for each of the community shall be called for. The candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on Personal Computer only without editing tools and spell check facility.
Result
The result for RRCBBS GDCE 2019 will be released on the official website as per the schedule. After finalizing the results of the CBT examination, candidates, who have qualified in the CBT examination, to the extent required as per the notified vacancies will have to submit the Original Academic/Technical/Community certificates at RRC/BBS. On satisfactory Document Verification, they will be included in the select list.
