Eligibility criteria for Food Analyst announced by Rajasthan University Of Health Science are as mentioned below
- An Applicant has to hold a Master degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry or Microbiology or Dairy Chemistry or Food Technology, Food and Nutrition or holds Bachelor of Technology in Dairy/Oil or holds degree in Veterinary Sciences from a university established in India by law or is an Associate of the Institution of Chemists (lndia) by examination in the section of Food Analysts conducted by the Institution of Chemists (India) or any other equivalent qualification recognized and notified by the Central Government for such purposes and has not less than 3 years experience in the analysis of food, in order to be qualified for appointment as Food Analyst under the Act; and
- Should be declared qualified for appointment as a Food Analyst by a committee appointed and
notified by the Authority.
Applicant should possess the knowledge of Hindi Language in devnagri script (lipi) and Rajasthani Sanskrit in in devnagri script (lipi)
Applicant should be of minimum 22 years and maximum 45 years as on the date of Food Analyst recruitment examination. The relaxation in upper age limit for reserved category candidates in Rajasthan will be relevant as per the government rules. The age limit for Ex-Serviceman will be 50 years and there is no age relaxation for a window. The relaxation on age limit marked by the personnel department for Person with disabilities (PWD) is
- General – 10 years
- OBC – 13 years
- SC/ST – 15 years
The Application form for Food Analyst has been started candidate can apply online through the Rajasthan University Of Health Science. Online Application will be available online by April 20, 2018. Candidates can follow the links provided below for applying online. The applicant form applied earlier by candidates in response to the RUHS notification no 18577 on September 09, 2013 for Food Analyst post will not be considered now(except the application fees). Candidates have to fill a new application form. Candidates applied earlier in response to the RUHS notification no 18577 on September 09, 2018 are applicable to apply for the current notification no 24998 dated March 09, 2018.
Admit card for the Food Analyst Recruitment examination has not been declared yet. The release date for the admit card will be announced officially by the Rajasthan University Of Health Science. The applicants are requested to carry their admit card on examination day. Applicant won’t be allowed to enter the examination hall without the admit card. Applicants can get their admit card online when it is released and check the information given on the admit card. The exam pattern for Food Analyst is released by the RUHS. Exam question paper will contain 100 multiple choice question paper of one marks each. Food Laws and Standards in India
- Food Safety and Standards (FSS) Act, 2006, FSS Rules and Regulations, 2011; Agricultural Produce Act, 1937 (Grading and Marketing); Sugar (Control), Order; Export (Quality Control & Inspection), Act, 1963 and Rules; Bureau of Indian Standards; Legal Metrology; International Food Control Systems including CODEX Planning Organization and set up of Food Analyst Laboratory including NABL/ ISO/IEC-17025:2005
- Principles of food preservation, Processing and Packaging, labelling/claims and principles of nutrition: Food preservation and processing their principles, methodology and technology; Food Packaging materials rigid and flexible such as plastic films, metal containers, glass, containers, paper and cardboard containers, jute containers, etc.; Basic principles of nutrition and role of various nutrients in human metabolism. Food Hygiene, Sanitation, HACCP, CODEX
Knowledge of Chemistry, definition, composition, and standards of quality and safety of food & food
products laid down in the FSS Regulations, 2011 including current food safety issues like antibiotic residues in Honey
Food Additives & Contaminants
Analytical Chemistry; Food additives, chemistry, role and application Preservatives,
emulsifying and stabilizing agents, buffering agents, bleaching, maturing agents and starch modifiers, Food colours,
flavours, anti-caking agent etc.; Food contaminants their occurrence, LOD and LOQ (i) Metals, (ii) Pesticide residues, (iii) Mycotoxins, Argemone, khesari dal, Ergot, Karnal bunt, Dhatura, etc
Instrumentation in food analysis
Instrumentation and methods of analysis of food products (a) Chromatography, including GLC, TLC, Paper & Column, LC-MS-MS, ICP-MS (b) Spectrophotometry UV & I.R.; Atomic Absorption
spectroscopy for determination of heavy metal contaminants in foods such as Lead, Cadmium, Mercury, Arsenic, Zinc,
Copper, Tin, etc.
Food Microbiology, food spoilage organism and their control, microbiology of dairy products, Meat
and Meat products, fish and fish products, egg and egg products, spices & condiments, processed food, food borne intoxicants and infection; Contaminants their composition, physiological significance in foods and detection.
Candidates selection will be based on the marks obtained in the examination. Eligible candidates will be awarded by the post of Food Analyst. The total no of post is 11 and it will be divided among the eligible candidates according to the seats allotted categories wise.
RUHS Recruitment 2018: Food Analyst answer key will be released after the examination. Answer key will be released officially on the website of RUSH. Applicants can refer the answer key to cross-check their answer with the answer key. Answer key will help the candidates for find the total number of score obtained in the examination.
