SSB Recruitment 2020 Selection Procedure
All applicants are to be selected for final appointment on the basis of the performance in written exam, physical standard test, medical examinations and documentation / interview / personality test. The selection of the candidates is a multi stage process. Each stage of the overall selection process is described below.
Written Exam
Applicants are to be screened preliminarily through a written examination to be conducted by the SSB. The details of the written examination is given in the subsequent sections of this article. Read on to find out more about the scheme and pattern of the written exam.
Physical Standard Test
The physical standard test is conducted to evaluate the compliance of applicants with the specified minimum physical requirements. Candidates are to be assessed on the basis of various physical parameters such as height, weight and chest expansion. Detailed Medical Examination
Candidates who qualify in complying with the specified physical standards are to undergo the Detailed Medical Examination (DME). Candidates must be declared FIT in the DME as per the norms of the Ministry of Home Affairs related to such recruitment.
Review Medical Examination (RME)
A Review Medical Examination is conducted if the candidate is declared UNFIT at the DME. Such candidates can appeal against the decision through proper procedure and proforma as described in the official notification of the SSB Recruitment 2020. Documentation / Interview / Personality test
Applicants who qualify through the stages of written exam, physical tests and medical examinations are called for the final interview/ personality test. A documentation process is conducted before the interview for the verification of original documents. The final interview consists of 150 marks in total.
Final Selection / Merit
Candidates who qualify through all the stage of the selction are shortlisted in a final merit list. The final merit list is prepared on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained in the written and the interview/personality test stages.
