SSC CGL 2018 Eligibility Criteria– Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts Combined Graduate Level Entrance Test (CGL) to recruit candidates at various Ministries/Department posts. Candidates who wish to apply for the posts can do it by giving SSC CGL exam after their graduation. The application process for CGL 2018 Tier-I started on May 05, 2018. The candidates are required to visit the official website to fill the SSC CGL 2018 Application Form. However, before submitting the form, all interested candidates must ensure that they fulfill the SSC CGL 2018 Eligibility Criteria. SSC CGL 2018 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates need to clarify these three standards in order to be eligible:
- Nationality Basis
- Age Basis
- Educational Qualification Basis
Nationality/Citizenship Criteria
The candidate applying must be
(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Candidates from (b), (c), (d) and (e) category shall be able to produce a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the Examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.
Eligible candidates apply, get admit card, and then appear in exam. Thereafter they can check answer key of SSC CGL to know all answers of exam.
Permissible relaxation in upper age limit, as well as category-codes for claiming age relaxation as on the date of reckoning (i.e. August 01, 2018), is as follows:

SSC CGL 2018 Educational Qualifications

Note – Candidates enrolled in the final year of their graduation can also apply, however it is mandatory for them to possess Essential qualification on or before August 01, 2018.
Those who are eligible and have applied for SSC CGL 2018-2019, can download admit card of SSC CGL for tier 1 from official websites prior to exam. Tier 2 admit cards are issued only to those who qualify tier 1.
After checking eligibility, candidates should apply and at once shift their focus on preparation. First thing to do therein is to know exam pattern of SSC CGL and syllabus.
SSC CGL 2018 Eligibility Criteria for Skill Test For the post of Tax Assistants (Central Excise & Income Tax)
The candidates appearing for the skill test for the post of Tax Assistants (Central Excise & Income Tax) in Tier IV will be required to go through Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) at 8,000 (eight thousand) Key Depression per hour on Computer.
Candidates may note that even if they qualify as per result of SSC CGL, and are unable to prove their eligibility, then they will not be considered.
Document Verification/Physical Standard Requirement for the Post of Inspector
All the candidates qualified for Document Verification are required to come for Document Verification. Those who fail to do so will not be considered for any post at the time of final selection. Candidates will have to submit copies of various documents like Matriculation Certificate, educational qualification, caste certificate, relevant document, if any relaxation is taken, etc. Candidates will be required to produce all documents in original for verification at the time of document verification. Information about the required documents will be provided while calling candidates for DV. Detailed options for posts will be taken either online or at the time of document verification.

Candidates should fulfill eligibility criteria, get cut off marks in SSC CGL exam, in order to be selected.
Note: Candidates are advised to make sure before opting for any category of post that they fulfill the requirements for that category. The physical measurements (including vision test) for candidates will be conducted by the concerned Indenting Departments and only those candidates who fulfill the specified physical measurements will be eligible for the respective posts. No request from candidates for allotting to any other service/ category of post will be entertained by the Commission if the nominated candidates fail to meet the physical requirements. Thus, the onus of fulfilling the eligibility criteria will exclusively be on the candidates opting for such posts.
