Shift 01 of the SSC CGL exam held on 03 March is over now. Here we analyse the question paper of the exam in details for all the subjects. Read on to know more about the exam here.
Exam analysis of Quantitative Aptitude section
Number of questions
- There were 25 questions in this section.
Level of difficulty
- The level of difficulty of the section on quantitative aptitude was between easy to moderate.
Question pattern
- Questions have been included from trigonometry which were fairly easy compared to previous year.
- Questions have been included from simplification and algebra.
- Relatively easy level of questions has been included from the geometry section.
- Problems based on boat & stream, height & distances, pipes & cisterns were encountered.
- Simple and compound interest were included in addition to typical ratio and proportion questions.
Exam analysis of General Intelligence & Reasoning section
Number of questions
- There were 25 questions in this section.
Level of difficulty
- The level of difficulty of the reasoning section was moderate to high.
- Questions were complicated and unique in nature.
Question pattern
- There was a total omission of matrix from the question paper.
- There were no questions from statement conclusion or arguements.
- Questions from clock & calender has also been excluded from all shifts.
- Analogy, classification, coding-decoding and series were included in the question paper.
- The part on analogy can help in scoring marks as 4-5 questions from analogy are included in all the shifts.
- Simple addition type series questions were common in all the shifts of the day.
- One question from figure counting have been included in every shift of the day.
- Mirror image type questions and figure counting questions were included.
- Questions were included from paper cutting and folding.
- Cube and dice based questions were included in the question paper.
- Reasoning section consisted of typical blood relation questions and venn diagrams. Typical coded blood relation questions are included.
Exam analysis of General Awareness section
Number of questions
- There were 25 questions in this section.
Level of difficulty
- Overall, the level of difficulty of the section on General Awareness was easy to moderate.
- Similar questions from previous year papers as well as typical GK questions have been included.
Question pattern
- Question have been included from the most recent current events of India. Questions have been included from upcoming sports events at the international level.
- Again questions have been asked from banking sector related to different facts of the RBI.
- Questions were also included from the Indian constitution and the history and geography of India.
- Questions were included from medieval history, basic economics, general science and current affairs across all shifts of the day.
Exam analysis of English Language section
Number of questions
- There were 25 questions in this section as per the indicative syllabus
Level of difficulty
- The level of difficulty of the English section was fairly easy in the first shift.
- The overall difficulty level of the section was between easy to moderate across all shifts.
- A lot of typical questions and questions from previous year papers were included.
Question pattern
- The question paper consisted of synonyms and antonyms of words similar to previous years.
- Typical idioms and phrases have been included in the question paper
- Close test have been included similar to every year.
- Error detection was included but one word substitution was omitted from the question paper.
- The question paper also included active & passive voice and direct & indirect sentences.
- The question paper also included para jumbles and active & passive voices in all shifts.
