The first shift of the SSC CGL 2020 exam for the Tier-I stage is over now. The candidates who are eagerly waiting to know about the question paper can get the information here. Exam analysis of Quantitative Aptitude section
Number of questions
- There were 25 questions in this section.
Level of difficulty
- The level of difficulty of the quantitative aptitude section was moderate to high.
- The level of difficulty was moderate to difficult since maximum questions were calculative in the second shift.
- Similar to the second shift, the question paper was calculative and a little bit difficult in the third shift.
Question pattern
- Repetitive questions were encountered in this section especially in the Algebra section.
- Equation based questions where examinees had to find the value of variables in the equation were asked.
- Numericals based on variables were asked from divisibility theorems
- Questions were repeated from Compound and Simple interest topics.
- Questions were included from geometry and triangle-based numerical.
- Triangle-based angle calculation questions were asked in all the shifts of the day.
- Calculative algebra based questions were common in all the shifts of the day.
- Questions were asked from trigonometric tables.
Exam analysis of General Intelligence & Reasoning section
Number of questions
- There were 25 questions as indicated in the syllabus.
Level of difficulty
- The level of difficulty of the paper in this section was easy to moderate
Question pattern
- Common questions were repeated from the shifts held in the last three days.
- Number series questions were asked based on difference between numbers.
- Analogy questions were based on given sets.
- Questions were asked about word analogy
- Coding decoding questions were also included similar to other shifts.
- Questions from the counting of triangles were included in the second shift.
- Venn diagram questions were present in the second shift.
- Syllogism questions were asked in the second shift.
- Ranking and comparison based questions were asked in the second shift.
- Odd one out questions were asked based on number pairs in shift two and three.
- Alternate series based and difference based series was encountered.
- Number relations were included in the third shift. This type of question is being repeated by SSC for the last 01-02 years.
- Set and Venn diagram based questions were asked in the third shift.
- Military rank based questions were asked in the third shift.
Exam analysis of General Awareness section
Number of questions
- There were 25 questions in the General awareness section.
Level of difficulty
- The level of difficulty of the General Awareness section was easy to moderate in the first two shifts.
- In the third shift, the level of difficulty of the question was somewhat between moderate to difficult.
Question pattern
- The question paper consisted of fairly easy and basic GK questions in the first shift.
- Questions were included from Indian geography like tributaries of river.
- Questions about forest coverage in Indian states were asked.
- From general science, questions were asked about basic human anatomy. Basic chemistry based questions were asked in the third shift.
- Questions were asked from basic laws and theories of chemistry. In the second shift as well, questions were asked from basic level general science.
- The current affairs part included very recent and domestic level current affairs of India.
- Questions were included from the history of dynasties that ruled India and dates of establishment of historical monuments of India.
- Questions about the Indian economy such as the new rate of advance income tax was asked. Indian polity based questions were present in the second shift.
- In the second shift, questions about Indian cricket scenario wers asked.
- Indian Constitution related questions were included in the second shift question paper.
- Some calculative questions related to image formation was included in the second shift.
- Questions were asked about various treaties of India. In the third shift, questions were asked from the recent military exercises of India.
- In the third shift, questions were asked from renowned personalities and their associated organizations. Similarly questions were also asked about famous personalities in the history of India.
Exam analysis of English Language section
Number of questions
- There were 25 questions in the English language section.
Level of difficulty
- The level of difficulty of the English section was relatively easy. Questions that were included were of a very basic level.
- In the second shift as well, the question paper was fairly easy for the English section.
Question pattern
- Synonyms and antonyms were common like the previous shifts and days in both shift one and two.
- Questions from synonyms/antonyms and idioms & phrases was of the basic level in both shifts.
- Questions were asked from incorrect spellings such as the spelling of Chauffeur in first shift and Reimbursement in second shift.
- Questions were asked about sentence improvement.
- Simple questions from active to passive voice transformation were asked.
- Similarly, direct and indirect speech-based basic questions were also included.
- Second shift exhibited questions related to cloze test based on “Drug Addiction”.
- Simple one-word questions were included in the second shift.
- Basic level verb form error spotting questions were included in both the first and second shift.
- In the third shift, some uncommon idioms were asked which were however not very hard to understand.
- Spelling detection, synonyms and antonyms were simple and of the basic level in the third shift.
- Cloze test was based on corruption in the third shift.
