SSC CHSL 2022 Eligibility Criteria
The Staff Selection Commission prescribes certain eligibility criteria which the candidates must follow to get their applications accepted. Once the candidates fulfill the eligibility criteria, they can appear for the examination. The eligibility criteria of the SSC CHSL 2022 exam are listed below.
- Age limit: Candidates must be 18-27 years of age.

- SC/St- 5 years
- OBC/Defense Personnel who were disabled during hostile exchanges against any foreign country- 3 years
- PwD (Unreserved)- 10 years
- PwD (OBC)- 13 years
- PwD (SC/ST)- 15 years
- Ex-Servicemen- 3 years after deducting the service they have rendered in the military
- Defense Personnel who were disabled during hostile exchanges against any foreign country (SC/ST)- 8 years
- Central Government Civilian Employees who have rendered at least 3 years of service- 40 years
- Central Government Civilian Employees who have rendered at least 3 years of service (SC/ST)- 45 years
- Widows/ Divorced Women/ Women who are judicially separated with their spouses- Up to 35 years

- Educational Qualification
- Lower Divisional Clerk, Postal Assistant, and Data Entry Operator- Passed 12th standard
- Data Entry Operator in the C&AG: Passed 12th standard in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject
SSC CHSL 2022 Application Form
To appear for the SSC CHSL exam, candidates need to fill the application form for the exam within the stipulated time on the official website. To apply for the exam, candidates can simply click the ‘Apply’ button on the homepage, fill in the necessary details and upload the relevant documents. After filling up the application form, candidates need to pay an application fee of Rs. 100 to the conducting body. Women candidates, SC/ST/ESM candidates are exempted from paying this application fee. After paying the fee, the application process for the SSC CHSL exam is completed.
SSC CHSL 2022 Admit Card
Staff Selection Commission issued the SSCCHSL admit card online on the official website, ssc.nic.in. The admit card for SSC CHSL can also be downloaded from the regional/sub-regionals website.
- Candidates have to carry the admit card for the SSC CHSL examination along with their colored passport size photos and a valid photo ID in the exam center.
- Examinees won’t be allowed to sit for the exam unless they carry their admit cards and the necessary documents.
- Candidates can access their admit cards 3-7 days before the examination by visiting the websites of their concerned Regional/Sub-Regional Office and clicking the ‘Download Admit Card’ option.
- The admit card contains the details such as reporting time, roll number, exam center, name of the candidate, etc.

SSC CHSL 2022 Syllabus

- Tier-I syllabus
- English Language: One-word substitution, Direct & Indirect speech, Shuffling of sentences, Cloze Passage, Active and Passive voice, Spellings, etc.
- General Intelligence: This paper comprises questions regarding verbal and non-verbal series. It consists of topics like emotional intelligence, analogies, Classification, coding and decoding, Problem-solving, etc.
- Quantitative Aptitude: Statistical Charts, Mensuration, Trigonometry, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Algebra, Geometry, Number Systems.
- General Awareness: Questions regarding current affairs as well as the political, cultural, geographical, historical, and economic background of India and neighboring countries are asked.
- Tier-II syllabus
It is a descriptive paper where examinees have to write an essay of around 200-250 words and a letter or an application of nearly 150-200 words.
SSC CHSL 2022 Selection Procedure
In order to shortlist the best candidates for various posts offered, the Commission makes its examinees go through three stages of the examination. Once this selection procedure is completed, candidates are assigned to their respective posts. We have provided the details regarding the SSC CHSL selection procedure below.
- Tier-I: It is an objective-type test that is conducted in a computer-based mode for a duration of one hour. The candidate’s knowledge regarding various topics prescribed in the official syllabus is tested. This stage carries a weightage of 200 marks and a negative marking of 0.50 marks per wrong answer. Candidates who score above the cut-off are eligible to appear for the next stage.
- Tier-II: Itis a descriptive type test that is conducted in a pen and paper-based mode for a duration of one hour. The candidate’s writing skills for either English or Hindi language are tested. This stage carries a weightage of 100 marks in total. Those candidates who manage to score the minimum qualifying marks are eligible to appear for the next stage.
- Tier-III: It is the final stage of the selection procedure and it is a qualifying test in nature. The candidate’s typing speed is tested in this stage. Candidates have to type at least at the minimum typing speed prescribed by the Commission either in Hindi or in the English language. This test lasts for a duration of 15 minutes. Once candidates pass this test, they are assigned to the available posts.
About SSC CHSL Exam
The Staff Selection Commission conducts the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level (CHSL) examination to recruit candidates for the posts of lower division clerk, postal assistant, and data entry operator in various departments of the Government of India.
