SSC MTS 2018 –  Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will release the notification and application form of SSC MTS 2018 on April 22, 2019. The notification and application form will be released at ssc.nic.in. After 30 days the application process will end i.e. on May 22, 2019. The Paper I is scheduled to be conducted from August 02, 2019 to September 09, 2019. The selection of the candidates is based on the Paper I & Paper II. SSC MTS 2018

Last year 70 Lakh students applied for the SSC MTS Exam, the exam was held on April 16, 30, & May 07, 2018. The examinations were conducted to fill 8300 posts. Eligibility Criteria of SSC MTS 2018

Before filling the application form candidates should first read the Eligibility Criteria of SSC MTS 2018. IOf at any stage of the recruitment process candidates found ineligible than those are not considered for the further process. Check the eligibility criteria from below.

Nationality / Citizenship: A candidate must be either:

  • a citizen of India, or
  • a subject of Nepal, or
  • a subject of Bhutan, or
  • a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit – The candidate should be 18-25 years as on August 01, 2018. Age relaxation policy is also applicable here.

Educational Qualification – Must have passed Matriculation Examination OR equivalent from a recognized Board. The candidate who has not acquired the proof of the Educational Qualification, but can acquire it till August 01 2018, is also eligible to apply.

Note: Candidate should note that the Matriculation Certificate will require for cross-checking their Date of Birth. So they should fill the same date in the application form, as no other document will be considered.

Application Form for SSC MTS Exam

SSC releases the Application form for the MTS Exam on its official website i.e. ssc.nic.in. The mode for filling the application form is online, but candidates can submit the application form online as well as offline. In order to apply the candidate need to keep some important documents ready such as Adhaar Card, Signature, Photograph in digital format. At first, the candidates need to register themselves.

Application Fee: Last year the application fee for the SSC MTS 2018 Exam is Rs. 100/-. And SC / ST, Ex-serviceman, and Woman candidates were exempted from paying the fee.

Note: All the details on the application form should be correct. If a candidate provides any wrong information in application form then, his/ her candidature can be canceled by the Commission.

Admit Card of SSC MTS 2018 Exam

After completion of the Application process, the commission releases the Admit card. The Admit card is issued to those who submit application form correctly with the proper fee till the last. SSC releases the Admit Card on its official website i. e. ssc.nic.in. The commission not be sent any admit card by post or by any other medium. So the only mode of getting the admit card is online. SSC releases the Admit card in two stages firstly for Paper I and Secondly for Paper II. To download the admit card candidates have to mention the Roll number and Date of Birth on the login page. Admit card is an important document for the exams. So if any candidate is unable to download the Admit card form the website, he /she should communicate to the Commission as soon as possible. After downloading the Admit Card, please check for all the details mentioned on it.

SSC MTS Examination Scheme

There are be two papers in SSC MTS 2018 Exam. The written examination is consist of (Paper-I) objective type paper and (Paper II) descriptive type as shown below :

The Commission reserves the right to set the questions additionally in regional languages subject to technical feasibility.

Paper II 

The candidates are required to write short essay/letter in English or any language included in the 8th schedule of the Constitution. The candidates with a special need given the extra time to write the exam. the General candidates will get 30 minutes to write the exam. As this examination is descriptive type so, there is no scope for negative marking. But candidates are advised to write as clear as possible so that they could skip the deduction marks due to bad handwriting.

Answer Key for SSC MTS 2018 Exam

After completion of Paper – I, SSC releases the Answer key For Paper – I. Commission not release the Answer key for Paper -II as it is descriptive type paper. SSC releases the answer key on its official website i. e. ssc.nic.in. The candidates can check the Answer key by either visiting the official website, or they can check the Answer key page form the Quick Link section.

The purpose of releasing Answer Key is that the candidates can check their marked answers, and can estimate their chances of the selection. If any candidate is not satisfied with his /her result they can wait for the final result. The final result will remove all the confusion which could arise due to Answer key Releasing.

Selection Procedure

The selection procedure of SSC MTS 2018 Exam consisting of two stages, i.e  Paper I and Paper -II.  The eligible candidates who submit the application form on time are able to appear in the Paper – I. Paper – I is objective type. In this stage, the candidates have to obtain the minimum qualifying marks to appear in the next stage.

The candidates who qualify the stage 1 exam those are called for Paper – II of SSC MTS 2018 Exam. The Paper – II is qualifying in nature. SSC considers the marks of Paper – I for preparing the merit list.

Result of SSC MTS 2018 Exam

As the examination of SSC MTS recruitment process held in two parts, So the result for each paper is released separately. The result of paper 1 indicates the list of paper 1 qualified candidates who can appear in paper 2. And the result of Paper -ii will indicate the finally selected candidates for the Training. The result is declared on the official website i.e. ssc.nic.in.

Compilation of Merit List

SSC compiles the Final Merit list on the basis of the performance of candidates in Paper-I as Paper-II is qualifying in nature. The cut-offs in Paper-I and qualifying marks in Paper-II may be different for vacancies in each State will be fixed at the discretion of the Commission. Candidates for each State/UT are finally selected on the basis of performance of the candidates in Paper-I, subject to their meeting basic qualifying standards fixed in Paper-II.

Resolution of Tie in SSC MTS 2018 Exam

If two or more candidates secured same marks in Paper -I then, Commission resolve the tie by considering following points

  • Firstly, SSC considers the marks in the Part – III (General English) of Objective type paper. The candidate with more marks will get the preference.
  • If a tie still persists, then SSC considers the marks in Part – II (Numerical Aptitude) of Objective type paper.
  • If still tie remains then the older candidate gets preference.
  • Finally, the alphabetical order of the name is considered, if the tie still persists.
