SSC Stenographer 2018 Syllabus
Before you begin your preparation for SSC Stenographer exam 2018 you must thoroughly know the SSC Stenographer 2018 Syllabus. Part I and part II of ssc stenographer exam 2018 will be a computer-based examination. Questions asked would be multiple choice questions. Part III will be written examination.

Indicative Syllabus for written examination
Part I will be written examination. It will contain multiple choice questions on general intelligence and reasoning, english language, and general awareness.
SSC Stenographer 2018 syllabus: general intelligence and reasoning
It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. The test will include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discriminating observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series etc. The test will also include questions designed to test the candidate’s abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationship, arithmetical computation and other analytical functions.
SSC Stenographer 2018 syllabus: General Awareness
The test will include questions relating to India and its Neighboring countries especially pertaining to Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General Polity including Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research etc. These questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.

Examination Pattern
Written Examination consists of one objective type paper as shown in table below

There is negative marking of 0.25 marks each for every wrong answer. The questions are set in both English and Hindi languages except Part III.
SSC Stenographer Grade C & D
Only those candidates will appear in Stenographer grade C& D, who will get qualifying marks in computer-based examination. Candidates will sit for a skill test wherein they will be given a dictation for 10 minutes in English / Hindi at 100 wpm (for Grade C) and 80 wpm (for Grade D). The dictated matter will have to be typed on the computer.
