Sikkim HRDD TET 2018 – Sikkim Human Resource Development Department has released the Sikkim TET Final Answer Key 2018 on November 13, 2018. The answer key has been released at the official website i.e. sikkimhrdd.org. HRD of Sikkim released the notification of Sikkim HRDD TET 2018 on sikkimhrdd.org on September 19, 2018. This year the Sikkim Teacher Eligibility Test will be conducted on November 11, 2018.  The admit card will be issued to the candidates who will fill the form in time. The HRDD will email the admit card on October 07, 2018 on candidates registered email id. Sikkim HRDD TET 2018 Application Form

Application form for Sikkim HRDD TET 2018 is available online at the official website. Candidates can fill the application form by downloading it from the official website. The application form is released online as per the scheduled date. Candidates must ensure their eligibility before filling the application form. Candidates have to pay the application fee to complete the application procedure. Candidates must fill the application form on or before its last date. Application Fee is Rs. 400/-

Sikkim HRDD TET 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Educational Qualification for Primary Teacher for classes I- V(Primary Stage).

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks in aggregate for unreserved candidates and 45 % in case of SC, ST, OBC (Central), OBC (State) and passed in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education ( D. El. Ed) . OR
  • Senior Secondary ( or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks in aggregate for unreserved candidates and 45 % in case of SC, ST, OBC(Central), OBC(State) and passed in the final year of 4 years Bachelors of Elementary Education (B. Ed ). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks in aggregate and 45 % in case of SC, ST, OBC (Central), OBC(State) and passed in final year of 2 years Diploma in Education ( Special Education).

Minimum qualification for Graduate Teacher for classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage)

  • B.A./B.Sc./ with 50% in aggregate marks for unreserved candidates and 45 % in case of SC, ST,OBC(Central),OBC (State)and passed in final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed.). OR
  • B.A./B.Sc./ with 50 % marks in aggregate for unreserved candidates and 45 % in case of SC, ST, OBC(Central),OBC(State) and passed in final year of 1/ 2 year Bachelor in Education (B. Ed.).

A person who will intend to appear in both the categories (Primary and Graduate) will have to apply and sit in both the papers separately.

A Diploma/Degree course in teacher education recognised by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) only shall be considered. In case of Diploma in Education (Special Education) and B. Ed. (Special Education), a course recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only shall be considered.

Sikkim HRDD TET 2018 Admit Card

Candidates who will fill their Application form on time will only be able to get the admit card for STET 2018. Admit card for STET 2018 will be available online at the official website. Candidates can download their admit card by visiting the official website. Candidates must bring the downloaded admit card on the day of examination at the exam center. Candidates without admit card will not be allowed to take entry in the examination hall.

STET 2018 Exam Pattern

Exam Time: 10.00 am to 12:30 pm for (Elementary (GT) teacher) and 01:30 pm to 4.00 pm for (Primary teacher)

STET will consist of 150 Objective type questions in MCQ (Multiple Choice Question) pattern. There will be no negative marking. The candidates will be required to record their answer on OMR Sheet, therefore, candidates discretion is advised.

Nature and content of Question:

  • The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6-11 years.
  • The test items for language I will focus on the proficiencies related to the medium of instruction that is English.
  • The Language II will be from among the prescribed options other than Language I. A candidate may choose from any one of the vernaculars being taught in the schools in Sikkim from Classes I to V. The applicant will specify the language in his application form.
  • The test items in Mathematics and Environmental studies will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understandings of the subjects prescribed for classes I to V in the state.
  • The questions will be based on syllabus for classes I to V, but their difficulty level, as well as linkage, will be up to the secondary stage.

Paper II (for Graduate teacher for classes VI to VIII)

Nature and content of questions

  • The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning, relevant to the age group 11-14 years.
  • The test items for Language I will focus on the proficiencies related to the medium of instruction, that is English.
  • The Language II will be a language other than Language I. The person may choose any one language from among the available options being taught in Classes VI to VIII in the schools in Sikkim. The test items in Language II will also focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
  • The test items in Mathematics and Science will be of 30 marks each, and will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of these subjects.
  • The test items of Social Studies will be of 60 marks evenly distributed between History, Geography and Civics as prescribed for classes VI to VIII by the state government.
  • The questions in the test for Paper II will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus of the state for classes VI to VIII but, their difficulty level as well as linkage could be up to the senior secondary stage. The question paper shall be in English and questions in vernacular will be in that vernacular.

About Sikkim HRDD TET

  • STET (Sikkim Teacher Eligibility Test) will be conducted at least twice a year.
  • A person who will qualify STET may also appear again for improving his/her score in the following years.
  • All candidates who will pass the STET will be awarded certificate. The validity of the certificate will be till he/she crosses the employability age as per the state government norms. However, it does not cover the special exemption of higher age given to the temporary in-service employees.
  • A person who will score 60% or more in TET will be considered TET pass. 5 % relaxation of marks is applicable to SC/ST, Central & State OBC candidates.

Notes: Qualifying the TET would not confer any right for recruitment /employment as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment.
