The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has notified the recruitment of junior Assistant or Assistant in the Tamil Nadu Ministerial Service and Tamil Nadu Judicial Ministerial Service (Group V). The commission has started the online portal for the interested and eligible candidates. Candidates can now apply for the post by visiting the official website of the commission at tnpscexams.net/ tnpsc.gov.in. The registration for the recruitment will end on 26 Sept. 2017.
For the fair recruitment, the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has set the eligibility criteria for the candidates who are desirous to apply for the post. Without fulfilling the eligibility conditions, no candidate will be able to submit the application form. The eligibility norms will strictly be taken into consideration while examining the application forms of the candidate. The candidates will be selected on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination which will be conducted by the commission. Only those candidates shall appear in the examination who will fulfill all the eligibility criterion for the recruitment. The eligibility criteria have set in terms of age and educational qualifications of the candidate. In accordance with the commission notification, the maximum age to apply for the recruitment is 30 years (35 years for reserved category candidates) as on 1st July 2017.
The TNPSC Group 5 2017 Written examination is scheduled to be held on 25th November 2017. To Apply for the examination candidates must submit the application form through online mode as well as through offline mode. After submitting the application form through online mode, all the candidates must submit the filled in form along with all the important documents in support of all claims made in the online application such as Age, Educational qualification, Community, etc and NOC. The last date to submit the application form through offline mode is 20 November 2017. After that, the commission will examine all the application form and shall verify all the documents attached with it. The candidates who will be found eligible for the post will receive Hall tickets for the examination, which has to be produced on the day of examination. Eligibility Criteria for TNPSC Group 5 2017
In the recruitment process, the eligibility criteria play a very crucial role in selecting the right candidate for the concerned post. The eligibility of a candidate defines its age, educational qualification and other important factors related to the recruitment. Keeping all these things in mind the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has also set the eligibility conditions for the junior Assistant or Assistant in the Tamil Nadu Ministerial Service and Tamil Nadu Judicial Ministerial Service (Group V) that are mentioned below. Candidates are advised to read all the eligibility criterion very carefully before filling the application form for the recruitment.
The candidates must be in specified age limit to apply for the post. The age limit of the applicant is counted as on 1st July 2017. The age limit according to the category of the candidate is given below in the table:

The educational qualifications of a candidate’s matters the most while recruiting him or her for the post. Therefore commission has listed the minimum educational qualifications for the concerned post:
- The candidates applying for the post must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University.
- The applicants should have completed service for a period of not less than three years after acquiring Bachelor’s Degree either in the category of Junior Assistant or in the category of Assistant or in both as on 01.08.2017.
No Objection Certificate
All the applicants interested in applying for the post have to submit a Non Objection Certificate (NOC) obtained from the appointing authority to show that he/ she is an approved probationer (post to be specified) and who has completed 3 years of regular service as on 01.08.2017 at the post of Junior Assistant or Assistant. This will confirm that the appointing authority has no objection in considering the application.
- A candidate should be:
- A citizen or India, Nepal or Bhutan or
- A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
- A person originally from India has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar) Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia with the intention of permanently settling in India or
- An applicant belonging to any of the countries that are mentioned above must produce the certificate of eligibility given by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
