About UGC NET
The UGC NET is a national level exam conducted by the National Testing Agency. The examination is conducted twice a year in June and December. NTA conducts the UGC NET as a competitive exam for determining the eligibility of applicants for recruitment to the post of Assistant Professor in Indian Universities. In addition, candidates are also awarded Junior Research Fellowship on the basis of UGC NET score.
The UGC NET exam is conducted as a Computer Based Test for two papers. There is no break between the papers and a total time of three hours is allowed to complete the test. The paper carries 150 objective type questions in total carrying +2 marks each. There is no negative marking in UGC NET. Candidates who qualify the test are awarded the eligibility certificate which remains valid for a period of three years.
