The High Court of Allahabad earlier issued a stay order on the appointment of 69000 Assistant Teachers by UPBEB. Provisional Selection List (PSL) is available at the official website, atrexam.upsdc.gov.in, and upbasiceduboard.gov.in. The result is based on the performance of the candidates in the examination. Reportedly, from among nearly 4 lac applicants, 1.46 lac candidates have passed the exam. The corresponding exam was conducted on January 06, 2019, and the cut-offs have been reportedly increased to 65% for general and 60% for reserved candidates. The Lucknow bench of the High Court of Allahabad has now lifted the stay order earlier issued on the counselling and appointment of selected candidates to the post of Assistant Teacher. The Supreme Court’s order to leave out 37399 of the 69000 posts remains intact but appointment to the remaining posts can now be carried out. The decision was passed by a bench consisting of Justice Pankaj Kumar Jaiswal and Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh.

As per updated media reports, the Supreme Court of India has directed the Uttar Pradesh state government to continue the appointment process of selected candidates but not in the 69000 posts advertised earlier. The apex court has directed the state government to leave out 37339 posts vacant which are reportedly held by Shiksha Mitras. The directives seem to be in continuation of earlier directives of the apex court on May 21, 2020, which imposed restrictions on the state government from disturbing the services of the Shiksha Mitras currently active in the post of assistant teacher. Further hearing in this context is pending on July 14 as per the decision of the Supreme Court today after hearing a batch of petitions against the state high court and the government in regards to the appointment to 69000 assistant posts.

As per the latest media reports, there is widespread unrest regarding the appointment of 69000 Assistant Teachers. Reportedly, certain candidates are claiming for the cancellation of the exam at this stage following the Board’s intervention against candidates who used unfair means to pass the exam. However, as per the Supreme court and High Court’s order, the exam cannot be canceled unless there is evidence that at least 10% of the candidates have passed using unfair means. However, although the exam cannot be canceled, the Board can prosecute those who adopted unfair means individually.

UPBEB has started the registration process for counseling sessions. The registration window is open from May 18 to 26, 2020. Candidates who qualified by securing the cutoffs (65%) are eligible to apply for counseling and recruitment. The UPBEB will be evaluating the registrations from May 27 to 31 and selected candidates are to be notified through the website. Thereafter, the counseling sessions are scheduled to be held between June 03 to 06 following which, selected candidates are to be appointed to the advertised posts.

As per reports, UP Assistant Teacher Result 2020 for recruitment into 69000 vacant posts are out today following orders from the state government to publish the results within a week. If we go by the reports, then out of the 4 lac approximate applicants, 1.46 lac applicants have cleared the exam. All candidates have been awarded three marks in common due to three questions which were asked from outside of the indicative syllabus. Watch out for the direct links to download the result once the results are officially released through the website. Furthermore, cut-offs are also likely to be increased to 60% for general candidates and 50% for reserved candidates.
