UPSC Geo Scientist Exam Pattern 2022

There are three levels to the UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist examination. For the final interview selection, candidates must pass both the Prelims and the Mains examinations. Candidates that pass the preliminary exam are shortlisted for the mains exam, after which the candidate will have a final interview. 

UPSC Geo-Scientist 2022 Preliminary exam pattern

The preliminary exam is an online computer-based test. Candidates must select the proper option from the available options. The prelims exam lasts a total of four hours – two hours for each paper. The following are the highlights of the CGGE Prelims exam for all positions.

UPSC Geo Scientist Mains exam pattern

Candidates who score over the cutoff in the UPSC Prelims Exam are then shortlisted for the UPSC Mains Exam. The mains test is an offline, pen-and-paper exam that must be completed in three hours.

UPSC Geo Scientist Personality test 

There will be a 200 marks Personality Test in Stage III. This does not, however, include any minimum qualifying marks. The candidates will be interviewed by a board that will assess their appropriateness for the positions. Character integrity, tact, social qualities, special attention to appraising initiative, aptitude to adapt to field life, mental and physical energy powers of practical application, intellectual curiosity The results of the Personality Test will be used to determine final merit.

The Combined Geo-scientist and Geologist test is held by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for the recruitment of Category I – (Posts in the Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines) and Central Water Board.
