Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the Geoscientist and Geologist Result 2017. The result of combined exam for Geoscientist and Geologist, which was held on May 12, 13, 14, can be checked at upsc.gov.in or from the window below. The selection to 105 vacancies in Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines and 33 vacancies in Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources will be on basis of UPSC Geoscientist Geologist Result 2017 for written examination and personality test/interview. Now that the UPSC Geoscientist Geologist Result 2017 of written exam result has been announced, UPSC will hold interview (personality test). Qualified candidates are expected to be issued UPSC Geologist Admit Card / Call Letter for interview. For written exam as well as final, UPSC fixes Geologist and Geoscientist cut off.

Details for Filling Detailed Application Form

Congratulations to all the qualified candidates. To proceed further with the recruitment procedure, the candidates will have to fill Details Application Form or DAF. The DAF will be available from August 22 to 31, 2017. The candidates will first have to register and then they will be able to fill DAF 2017. The candidates who will apply will get the call letter for interview soon.

Selection Procedure UPSC Geologist Geoscientist Result 2017

Based on the performance of the students in the written examination, followed by interviews as part of Personality Test, the candidates will be declared qualified for the post. The selection will be done in order of  the merit. The selected candidates will be posted as Geologists, Geophysicist and Chemists in the Geological Survey of India and Jr. Hydrogeologists (Scientist B), Group ‘A’ in the Central Ground Water Board.

Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Examination Cut off

The cutoff is used to delimit the candidates for selection. Last year, the cutoff was announced on 06 September. The candidates may have a look at the previous year cutoff, to assume how much it will be this year. Usually, the difference in the cutoff is not much.

(A) Written Stage Cut Off of last Geologist Geoscientist Exam

These were the Minimum qualifying marks secured by the last qualified candidate in the written stage who was further called for Personality Test. The marks were given out of 700.

Note – General, OBC, SC and ST Candidates must have obtain a minimum 15% marks in each paper in the written exam. Whereas, the PH-1, PH-2 and PH-3 Candidates must obtain a minimum of 5% in each paper in the written examination.

(B) Final Stage Cut Off of last Geologist Geoscientist Exam

These were the Minimum qualifying marks obtained by the last finally recommended candidate by UPSC for appointment. Total marks in the exam was 900.
