UPSC IFS Syllabus 2020 – The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) releases syllabus for Indian Forest Service (IFS) with the notification. Preliminary round includes two papers – Paper-I and Paper-II. Candidates must know that Paper-II of preliminary exam is qualifying nature (33% marks). Syllabus for Preliminary exam
Paper 1:
Current events of national and international importance, Indian and world geography, Indian polity and governance – constitution, political system, public policy, Panchayati raj, rights issues, History of India and Indian national movement, economic and social development – demographics, social sector initiatives, sustainable development, general science, general issues on environmental ecology, bio-diversity and climate change.
Paper 2:
Comprehension, logical reasoning and analytical abilty, general mental ability, basic numercay (of class 10th level), data interpretation, decision making and problem solving, interpersonal skills including communication skills.
Syllabus for Main Exam
The standard of general knowledge and general English is of science or engineering graduate Indian university.
General English
Candidates have to write an essay in English while other questions are designed to test the understanding of English language. Passages asked in the paper is set for summary or precis.
General Knowledge
Questions are asked based on the knowledge of current events, and matters of every day observation and their scientific aspects. Paper also includes questions on Indian polity including political system, constitution of India, geography, history.
