NDA 2017 Application Form is now available online. Eligible candidates can apply for UPSC NDA 2017 or more specifically the UPSC NDA NA (I) 2017. Complete both parts of the NDA 2017 application form and pay the fee to register for the NDA exam. The application fee is Rs 100 (nil for SC/ST, sons of JCOs/NCOs/OR). This is the first step towards getting admission in National Defence Academy or Naval Academy. Applicants can download admit card of NDA 2017 and carry it to appear in the NDA exam. Union Public Service Commission is overseeing the receipt of online NDA 2017 application form and they will assign exam center to the candidate by checking center preferences that candidate has filled in the form.

The application fee is Rs 100. Although, candidates who are SC, ST sons of JCOs/NCOs/ORs have nil fee.

Instructions for NDA Application Form

  • The NDA Application form will be filled and submitted online through the official site of UPSC.
  • The application form should be filled carefully.
  • No change will be permitted after the final submission of application form.
  • Candidates should keep ready the scanned images of photograph and signature in prescribed size and format before filling the application form.
  • There is no need to send the printed application form to the authority.

APPLICATION FEE

  • The Application fee for general and OBC candidate is RS 100/-
  • SC/ST candidates and wards of JCOs/ NCOs/ Ors are exempted from examination fee.
  • The application fee payment can be done via cash payment in any branch of SBI Bank or through net banking, visa/master card/ debit card.

About NDA 2017

NDA Exam is all India level entrance examination through which candidates are admitted to Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air force.

UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) conducts NDA Exam twice a year one in April and one in September. The cut off is the main ladder to enter in NDA. This exam includes Mathematics and General Ability Test [English and General Knowledge] along with SSB interview.

The duration for Mathematics paper is 2.5 hours and maximum marks is 300 and for General Ability Test the duration will be same it is of 600 marks. To clear NDA exam only written test is not the key you should be physically and mentally fit to clear the selection process (SSB).

Once candidate applies for UPSC NDA exam, they can download NDA 2017 admit card. Admit card of UPSC NDA NA 2017 will be available as per schedule, around three weeks before exam. It is important to download and print hall ticket in order to appear in exam.

NDA Exam Syllabus

PAPER I MATHEMATICS (Code No.1) (Max Marks-300)

  1. Algebra
  2. Matrices and Determinants
  3. Trigonometry
  4. Analytical Geometry of two and three dimensions
  5. Differential Calculus
  6. Integral Calculus and Differential Equations
  7. Vector Algebra
  8. Statistics and Probability

PAPER II GENERAL ABILITY TEST (Code No.2) (Max Marks 600)

  • PART A – English
  • PART B – General Knowledge
  • SECTION A – Physics
  • SECTION B – Chemistry
  • SECTION C – General Sciences
  • SECTION D – History, Freedom Movements
  • SECTION E – Geography
  • SECTION F – Current Affairs

Questions on Section A B C D E and F will carry 25%, 15%,10%, 20%,20%,and 10% weightage. There will be negative marking for incorrect response given by candidates.

The SSB interview consists of two stages i.e. stage I and stage II. The stage (I) will consist of Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) and Picture Perception & Description Test (PP & DT). The stage (II) will comprise of Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests and the Conference. These tests will be organized over 4 or 5 days. Entire process will carry 900 marks.

NDA Exams focuses mainly on English, General Knowledge and Mathematics.

Question paper includes equations and questions related to subjects listed above.

Overview Of NDA Application Form

Union Public Service Commission will release NDA 2017 Application Form. Candidates who satisfy eligibility criteria can fill NDA application form 2017 and submit it by the last date. UPSC holds NDA & NA exams twice a year, firstly in April, and then in September. There are in fact separate application forms for NDA (1) 2017 and NDA (2) 2017 for this reason. How to prepare for NDA exam?

NDA Syllabus covers various aspects of subjects given below:-

Mathematics includes real numbers, equations, arithmetic, matrix method, angles, theorems and their applications, different formulas, general and particular solution of a differential equation, frequency distribution, and graphical representations.

On the other hand English test is designed to test the candidate understanding of English and proficiency in English. It covers aspects of grammar, vocabulary, comprehension and cohesion.

General knowledge test is designed to check candidate knowledge and understating of the subject.

Matter, Mass, Density, Motion. Chemical changes, Mixtures, Compounds, Formulas, Difference between living and non living things, Cell, Protoplasm, Tissues, Food, Freedom movements, Five year plans, Revolution, Socialism, Earth and its shape and size, International Date line, Ocean Current, Climates Important events happened in India, Prominent personalities are some topics that falls under the test.

Useful tips for NDA exam

  • NDA preparation schedule must be well planned and organized, prepare for the exam as per the syllabus and make our own notes.
  • Search your school books to get the basic clear.
  • For English paper start reading English newspaper and watch English movies and news channels.
  • For general knowledge section read 8th to 10th class books.
  • For mathematics learn all the basic formulas do practice the equations again n again as ‘practice makes man perfect’
  • Go through the previous year question paper, solve sample papers as it will make east to understand the pattern of the exam.
  • Be confident while answering the questions, at times we may get confused or forget the answers that we know just because of tension or lack of confidence.
