CGPSC Model Answer: SSE Prelims Key, Objections, Marking

CGPSC calls its answer key the "model answer". For the State Service (Preliminary) Examination 2025, held on 22 February 2026, it released the model answers on 23 February 2026 and the amended model answers on 25 March 2026. The cycle has since moved on to interviews: 608 candidates were shortlisted after the Mains. The document verification and interview schedule of 20 September 2026 to 1 October 2026 was postponed on 16 September 2026, and new dates are to be notified on psc.cg.gov.in. On 28 September 2026 the Chhattisgarh High Court dismissed two writ petitions (WPS 6880/2026 with WPS 6976/2026) that sought re-evaluation of Mains answer scripts and challenged the interview shortlist, noting that only 608 candidates had reached the minimum qualifying marks and that the rules make no provision for re-evaluation.

How CGPSC handles model answers

On the Model Answers page, CGPSC's objective exams appear in two steps: a model answer, which opens an online objection window, and later an "amended model answer" prepared after experts review the objections. Recent examples include the Assistant Librarian Exam 2026 (Prelims), with a model answer on 28 July 2026 and an amended one on 10 August 2026. The State Service Mains is a conventional (descriptive) written examination, and the page lists State Service model answers for the Prelims only.

How to object to the SSE model answer

• Objections to questions or answer options are accepted online only. The 23 February 2026 notice set the window from 23 February 2026 to 3 March 2026.
• Objections, with the objection form and supporting proof (प्रपत्र व प्रमाण), were accepted online until 3 March 2026; the notice said filing instructions were on the Commission's website.
• A subject expert committee examines the objections, and the OMR answer sheets are evaluated on the amended model answer.

Marking scheme: score yourself before the result

Under the SSE 2025 advertisement, Paper-1 (General Studies) has 100 questions for 200 marks in 2 hours. It has 50 questions from Part-1 (General Studies) and 50 from Part-2 (General Knowledge of Chhattisgarh), each worth 2 marks. Paper-2 (Aptitude Test) also has 100 questions for 200 marks. In both papers, 1/3 of the marks for a correct answer is deducted for each wrong answer. Each paper needs 33% for unreserved and 23% for reserved categories. Paper-2 is qualifying only: the Mains shortlist is drawn from the General Studies merit list. The paper is set in Hindi and English, and in case of doubt the Hindi version prevails.

What happens after the amended model answer

For SSE 2025 the Prelims result came on 25 March 2026, the same day as the amended model answer. The Mains shortlist was meant to be 15 times the posts, or 3975 candidates, but 3921 were shortlisted because of category-wise availability. The result PDF gives roll number, name, date of birth and category/sub-category cut-offs. According to the Commission's 3 September 2026 press note, its examinations have no provision for revaluation or recounting. After the selection result, it publishes Prelims and Mains marks and the Mains cut-off, and candidates can obtain copies of their OMR sheet and answer book under the RTI Act.
