How to Submit UPSC IES Application Form 2020?
To successfully submit the IES application form 2020 the candidates need to undergo the two-step registration process. The detailed stepwise procedure to fill up and submit the UPSC IES application form is given below.
Part 1 Registration
The applicants first need to complete the registration process to be able to proceed further to the main application form. Follow the steps below to do the registration.
1st step: Visit the official website of UPSC which is upsc.gov.in. or Click on the direct link provided on this page.
2nd step: A window containing the application form link gets open.

3rd step: Click on part 1 registration and as soon as the click gets functioned the instruction page gets open like shown below. Read the instructions carefully and click on “yes” button to proceed further.

4th step: Soon after clicking the yes button the registration form gets generated as shown below in the picture attached.

5th step: Fill the relevant details as asked in the registration form and hit the continue button, next window gets open asking about claiming of reservation or not.

6th step: If yes, then the candidates need to fill in the following details:
- Photo identity number
- Photo identity type
- Select branch of engineering
- Select the center for the main examination

Once clicking the continue button the preview page of all information entered so far gets generated. Check the details and finally submit the application form. And from here registration part 2 begins.

After clicking on “I Agree” button the candidates will be shown the registration slip. If they want to take the print out of it they can otherwise click on “Part 2 registration” button provided at the bottom.

Part 2 Filling Up The UPSC IES Application Form 2020

Payment
Once the candidate has finally submitted part 1 of the application form then they have to make the payment for proceeding further. One can make the payment either online or offline as per preference.
Center Selection
After doing the payment for IES application form 2020, candidates need to select the choice of examination center. Once selected and submitted the choice of center, there is no provision for a change in the examination center selection.

Documents Upload
The next step in filling up the application form is to upload the scanned images of the documents asked by the commission. The images so uploaded should be done in the prescribed format as suggested by the officials. Any change in the format, will not get the images to get uploaded.

Declaration
The last and final step of the application form to be finally get submitted is agreeing to the declaration so asked in the form. Click on the small square box and the declaration gets submitted. Just after doing this “IES Application Form 2020” gets submitted.
Withdrawal of UPSC IES Application Form 2020
The Commission provides the facility to withdraw the application form after it has been submitted. Candidates can only withdraw applications that are submitted after filling them up completely and paying the fees. Application fee, in any case, is not refunded back to the candidates even after withdrawing the application. Commission has set some guidelines in doing the same, have a look at them below:
- Candidate must have the registered mobile number and email id with them which they provided while filling up the application form.
- OTP is sent on the registered mobile number and requests for withdrawal are accepted only after validating the OTP sent.
- Applicants must provide the details of the registration id number generated at the time of filling up the IES form.
- After final acceptance, the candidate must ensure to take the print out of the authenticated receipt.

Mode of payment: Both offline and online modes of payment are available for the payment of fees. Candidates can pay by cash by downloading the pay-in-slip during the registration and submit it at any branch of SBI if they wish to pay offline. Otherwise, using debit/credit card and/or internet banking option, one can easily pay the application fee online.

Eligibility Criteria to Fill Up UPSC IES 2020
Candidates must ensure to fulfill the eligibility criteria as prescribed by the Commission. Mere issuance of the e-admit card does not guarantee an appointment into the vacant positions. The Commission holds the verification process based on the production of all original certificates after qualifying the personality test. Check the eligibility criteria from below:
Candidates nationality should be:
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A subject of Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda,the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or from Vietnam with the intention of permanently setting in India.

- A degree in Engineering from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or
- Obtained a degree/diploma in Engineering from such foreign University/College/Institution or
- passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India); or
- Passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India; or
- Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London.
What After UPSC IES Application Form 2020?
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) releases the admit card for IES on its official website after the successful submission of the application form by the candidates. The Commission publishes the e admit card on upsc.gov.in. It is advised to the candidates to check the details mentioned in the admit card while downloading it. In case of any discrepancy, one may contact the commission as soon as possible. Along with the admit card, candidates have to bring one photo identity proof for verification at the time of examination. Failure in bringing any of the documents either admit card or id proof disqualifies the candidates to appear for the examination.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the examination for Engineering Services each year. To apply for IES, candidates must have a degree in engineering from a recognized university. The minimum age required for the IES post is 21 years. The selection of candidates is done in 3 stages.
