Candidates interested in applying for Indian Army TES-42 Jan 2020 must fill an online application form and submit before the last date given in the schedule below.

Indian Army Technical Entry Scheme (TES) 42 details
Age limit – Between 16½ years to 19½ years (the candidate should not be born before 01 Jul 2000 and not after 01 Jul 2003 (both days inclusive)).
Educational qualification – Candidates who have passed 10+2 Examination or its equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 70% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from recognized education boards are eligible to apply.
Selection process – In the first place, eligible candidates can apply online for TES 42. Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) reserves the right to shortlist applications based on cutoff applied as decided. Consequently, shortlisted candidates are called for SSB Interview. Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit, will be issued joining letter for training in the order of merit, depending on the number of vacancies available.
Note: The cut off percentage (PCM cumulative) for TES 42 is 85%. Candidates are required not to proceed with SSB Interview, if their cumulative percentage in Class XII (PCM Cumulative) is below 85%.

Candidates are able to apply online. In order to do so, visit the website of Join Indian Army, joinindianarmy.nic.in. Candidates must enter their particulars in the online application. Terms and conditions linked to the form must be read, prior to submitting the form. The candidates are advised to go through the eligibility criteria prior to fill the form.
The candidates should note that the only mode of accessing the application form is online apart from that no other mode is available t download the same. Indian Army will not charge anything to fill the form.

TES Admit Card / Call Letter 2019
At first, Indian Army will release the list for the candidates shortlisted for the SSB round. All candidates who will be shortlisted for SSB will able to download call letters online. From time to time you can check the website to know the availability of SSB Call Letter / SSB Admit Card. Whenever it is issued, you can download it at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.
Note – Call Up letter for SSB interview will be issued by respective Selection Centres on candidate’s registered e-mail ID and SMS only.
TES 42 SSB Interview Dates
Indian Army will decide dates for SSB Interview. Usually, you will get information on this through call letter. Shortlisted candidates will be detailed to undergo SSB interview from June 2019 onwards. Prior to that, the Indian Army will publish center allotment list. Then the centers will release TES 42 SSB Interview Dates. Duration of SSB interviews is five days and details of the same are available at the official website.
TES 42 Result
Merit List: It must be noted that mere qualifying at the SSB Interview does not confirm final selection Merit will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate at SSB Interview. Higher educational qualifications, previous performances, NCC background, etc. have no role to play for finalization of Merit List. Joining letters to join pre-commission training at OTA, Gaya will only be issued subject to vacancies and medical fitness.
TES 42 Selection Procedure
Army Headquarters will shortlist candidates on the basis of cutoff % applied as decided. After shortlisting of candidates, the Centre allotment will be intimated to the candidate via their email. After allotment of Selection Centre, candidates will have to log in to the website and select their SSB dates on a first come first serve basis, through the link forwarded via email.
Only shortlisted eligible candidates depending on the cutoff percentage will undergo SSB at Selection Centres,
- Allahabad (UP)
- Bhopal (MP)
- Bangalore (Karnataka)
- Kapurthala (PB) by Psychologist, Group Testing Officer and Interviewing Officer.
Candidates will be put through the two-stage selection procedure. Those who clear Stage I will go to Stage II. Those who fail in Stage I will be returned on the same day. Duration of SSB interviews is five days and details of the same are available at the official website of Directorate General of Recruiting www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. This will be followed by a medical examination for the candidates who get recommended after Stage II.

- For TES 38:

Promotion Criteria and salary Structure of Indian Army TES 42
The promotion criteria of the candidates are as follows
- Lieutenant: At the time of the commission.
- Captain: Cadets will be given the post of Captain at the end of successful completion of 02 years.
- Major: Major post at the successful completion of 06 years.
- Lt. Colonel: At the successful completion of 13 years.
- Colonel (TS): After successful completion of 26 years of service cadets will be promoted at the post of Colonel (TS).
After this, the promotion of the candidates will be decided by the Indian Army on its own eligibility norms.
