Indian Coast Guard Navik 2021 Selection Procedure
The selection of candidates depends upon the merit-based on written examination, PFT and medical test. The detailed selection process for Indian Coast Guard Navik (general duty) 2021 is provided below:
- Written examination: Written examination will have objective type questions. The level of the examination is of 12th standard. Candidates have to secure the cut off mark to qualify for the PFT round.
- Physical Fitness Test: This round is conducted for those candidates who qualify the written tests. PFT is conducted for consecutive 2 days. Physically challenged candidates are not eligible for the test. In PFT round, candidates have to perform the tasks as mentioned below:
- 1.6 Km run completed in 7 minutes
- 20 Squat ups (Uthak Baithak)
- 10 Push up
- Medical Test: Based on this, candidates have to undergo medical examination as well. There are 2 medical tests that candidates have to undergo. Preliminary medical test and Final medical test. The final medical examination is conducted at INS Chilika.
Candidates who are declared as unfit at the final medical examination, are not enrolled for the training. Such candidates can send ‘an appeal’ within a period of 21 days or as decided by INS Chilika.
Indian Coast Guard Navik 2021 Training
After the declaration of the final result, candidates are sent to training sessions. The basic training for the shortlisted candidates will be organized in April 2021. This basic training is organized at INS Chilika. After this, applicants have to get through sea training and professional training at the allotted trade. The brach/trade is allotted to candidates depending upon the service requirement and performance during basic training. During any time of the training, candidates are declared as unsuitable if their performance is found unsatisfactory.
