JPSC Selection Procedure

The Jharkhand Public Service Commission has two main categories; Prelims and Mains. If the candidate passes the Preliminary Examination they get promoted to the Main Examination. Both the categories contain a written test, only the mains contain an interview. The preliminary round does not have an effect on the ranking in the final list.

Preliminary Round

A PDF is published on the JPSC website displaying the roll numbers of the shortlisted candidates. The round consists of two objective-type papers that are 200 marks each and is carried out as the first stage of the recruitment procedure.

Mains Round

The Mains results are published in a PDF as well. The Mains exam consists of a written exam and an interview. The exam is descriptive and contains six papers. The interview round carries 100 marks of the total score and this score determines the final ranking of the candidate on the final list.

Interview

Subsequently qualifying the mains exam, the candidates proceed with the interview stage. They are called for the interview according to the venue and time shared with them. At this stage, the JPSC qualifying recruiters assess the candidate with the criteria of personality and critical thinking. Along with this, the documents of the candidate are verified too.
