RRB JE CEN 04/2026 notification out, apply by 13 September

The Railway Recruitment Boards have issued CEN No. 04/2026, recruiting for Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant posts.

The application window opened on 14 August 2026 (00:00 hrs) and closes on 13 September 2026 (23:59 hrs). RRB published Corrigendum-1 to CEN 04/2026 on 18 August 2026 — read it before you submit, since corrigenda routinely change eligibility or post details.

The structural point that catches Railway candidates out: you apply to a single Railway Recruitment Board, and merit is drawn within that region rather than nationally. The same score can be selected in one RRB and not in another in the same cycle, so the board you pick matters as much as your preparation.

RRB examinations also run across multiple shifts and normalise scores accordingly, and the Boards refund a large part of the examination fee to candidates who actually appear.
