Punjab State Civil Services Exam (PCSE) 2020 Notice regarding extension of last date of submission of applications
Punjab Public Service Commission has extended the last of online application form for Punjab State Civil Services Exam (PCSE) 2020 till July 15, 2020 and also the last date for depositing fee through challan form till July 22, 2020.

In view of public health issues, the dates for submission of online application forms and the payment of the fee via the bank request for various exams and recruitments had been extended.

Terminology Of PPSC Recruitment Events
PPSC recruitment events are sequenced in an order that is similar to most other public service commissions in India. Here are the various terms one shall come across in almost all PPSC recruitment events.
PPSC Application Form
After meeting the eligibility criteria, an application form is required to be filled. The process would be done through an online process only from the official website of Punjab Public Service Commission. The application process includes three major steps ie. Application Registration, Payment of fees, and Signature & Photo upload. It should be done under the specific time window provided by the commission.
PPSC Admit Card
Admit Card can be downloaded from the official website, information about the same will be provided through Email/SMS or directly notified on the official website. After clicking the relevant link, Registration Number, Password or Date of Birth is required to download the admit card. Admit card and other documents mentioned by the Punjab Public Service Commission are necessary to carry on the examination day.
PPSC Exam Pattern
The Exam Pattern of Punjab Public Service Commission generally includes two papers General Studies and Aptitude Test and it varies according to different posts. The paper would have multiple choice questions only and there will be no negative marking in the paper. Question is set in English and Punjabi Language except where language proficiency needs to be assessed. After the Preliminary Examination, there can be Mains examination as well which will be purely descriptive in nature.
After the Interview round a final list of selected candidates will be released by the commission depending on the marks scored in written examination and interview. Though recruitment is provisional until the verification of all the documents. Recruitment is liable to be cancelled in case any false document found in any stage of the selection process and even after that. Results will be declared on the official website only by the commission.
After the successful conduction of written examination, there is an interview/Personality test for the candidates who will qualify the written test depending upon the cut off released by the commission. Candidates will be interviewed by the panellist on the basis of their knowledge, Analytical Skills etc. Candidates are advised to prepare comprehensively for the interview as weight-age for the interview in these recruitments are quite high.

The Punjab Public Service Commission is the apex recruitment agency for the government of Punjab, a northern state in India. From Shimla, the headquarters of the PPSC were shifted to Patiala in Punjab in 1956. It was established as the Joint Public Service Commission with the jurisdiction spanning Khyber Pass to Jamuna in Delhi. Thereafter, following the partition of India, the headquarters were first shifted from Lahore to Shimla and then to Patiala in Punjab. PPSC caters to all recruitment for the state government of Punjab and also acts as an advisory body in staffing matters of the state government.
