RRB SSE (Senior Section Engineer) is not currently notified as a separate recruitment. Senior Section Engineer posts were last advertised separately under CEN 03/2018 alongside Junior Engineer and Depot Material Superintendent.
Engineering-cadre recruitment now runs through the Junior Engineer notification — currently CEN 05/2025, covering Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant with 2,569 vacancies at Level 6. Candidates looking for railway engineering posts should follow that CEN.
Senior Section Engineer is now generally reached by promotion from Junior Engineer rather than direct recruitment. The previous years' SSE question papers below remain useful practice, because the technical syllabus overlaps substantially with the current JE paper.

The fee is largely refundable, but only if you actually sit the CBT. A general candidate who appears pays an effective ₹100; candidates who skip the exam forfeit the whole amount.
Payment is online only — net banking, debit card, credit card or UPI. Applications without the prescribed fee are summarily rejected.
EBC is not the same as OBC or EWS. Economically Backward Class means annual family income below ₹50,000, evidenced by an income certificate, BPL card or Izzat MST issued by the Railways, dated on or before the application closing date.
