UPSC CDS 2 2018
The CDS II 2018 entrance examination comprises a written examination. Candidates who qualify the written examination are selected for the interview and personality test conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB) commonly known as SSB. Important dates of UPSC CDS 2 2018 are as follows.

UPSC CDS 2 Result 2018
The final CDS 2 Result has been declared. The result has been declared on the official website. The result is declared in the form of pdf and it contains the name and roll number of the qualified candidates. After each phase of the examination separate result is declared. The commencement of the course will start in the month of July 2019.
Answer Key of CDS 2 2018
After the examination, many unofficial bodies has released the unofficial answer key and pdf of answer key with help of the question paper. The candidates who have appeared in the examination can chcek their answer key from here. The candidates can estimate the score with help of the unofficial answer key, until the official one published by the UPSC. The Commission will release the answer key after few weeks of the examination. Till then candidates have to rely on the unofficial answer key.

The papers in all the subject will be of MCQ type (objective questions). Candidates are not allowed to use the calculators during an examination.

After clearing the written examination the candidates have to appear for the Personality test at the Service Selection Boards in India. That comprises two-stage selection.

Admit Card for UPSC CDS 2 2018 Exam
The candidates who will fill the application form in time with the requisite amount of fee, UPSC has assigned the admit card to them for CDS exam. Candidates can download the admit card from the official website of UPSC at http://www.upsc.gov.in. No, admit card will be sent through posts. Candidate must download it from the website and take a printout of it. Applicants will not be allowed to enter the examination hall without the valid admit card, therefore candidates are advised to bring the admit card safely on the day of examination.
Application Form of UPSC CDS 2 2018
The application form for UPSC CDS has been released online. The candidates can fill it by visiting the official website. At first, the candidates have to fill the part I of application form later they have to fill the part II. The part I has to be filled by entering the basic details whereas the part II will of the application contains the fee [aynet details.
Application Fee– Fee for the examination for different categories along with the modes of payment is as follows:
- General and OBC candidates – Rs. 200
- Female/SC/ST Candidates – Need not pay any fee amount.

Eligibility for UPSC CDS 2 2018 Exam
There are some eligibility norms which are set by UPSC for CDS examination. To apply for the examination candidate must fulfill the eligibility criteria for the same.
Nationality
- An Indian candidate is eligible to apply.
- Candidate must be a citizen of Bhutan / Nepal or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1964.
- A person who was an Indian citizen but migrated to Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Age limit
- Indian Military Academy- Candidate should, not born earlier than July 02, 1995 and not later than July 01, 2000 are eligible.
- Indian Naval Academy-The aspirants should 02, 1995 and not later than July 01 2000 are eligible
- Air Force Academy– Candidates from age 20-24 as on July 01 2019, should be born earlier July 01, 1995 and not later than July 01, 1999 are only eligible.
Gender: The male and female candidates both are eligible to apply.
Marital Status: Only Unmarried candidates ate eligible to apply.
Educational Qualifications
- For Indian Military Academy (IMA) candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
- For taking entry in Indian Naval Academy (INA) Candidate should have a degree in Engineering from a recognized university or institution.
- For Air Force Academy (AFA) candidate must have a degree of a recognized university with mathematics and Physics as main subjects in 10+2 level. or Bachelor of Engineering.

Period of Probation
An officer will be on probation for a period of 6 months from the date he/she receives his/her commission. If he/she is reported on within the probationary period as unsuitable to retain his/her commission, he/she may be terminated at any time whether before or after the expiry of the probationary period. Candidates withdrawn from Officers’ Training Academy on disciplinary grounds are not
eligible to apply.
Personnel granted Short Service Commission are liable to serve anywhere in India and abroad on selected appointments as decided by IHQ MOD (Army) from time to time.
Salary During Probation Period
The candidates who will join as cadets will get the monthly stipend of Rs 56,100/- (Starting
pay in Level 10). After completion of probation period, their salary would according to their rank in the respective force.

Tenure of Appointment
Short Service Commission Officers (Male and Female) in the regular Army will be granted for 14 years i.e. for an initial period of 10 years extendable by a further period of 04 years. Male officers who are willing to continue to serve in the Army after the expiry of period of ten years Short Service Commission may, if eligible and suitable in all respects, be considered for the grant of Permanent Commission in the
10th year of their Short Service Commission in accordance with the relevant rules. Those SSC officers who are not selected for grant of PC but are otherwise considered fit and suitable will be given options to continue as SSCOs for a total period of 14 years (including the initial tenure of 10 years) on expiry of which they will be released from the Army”. Women officers are not eligible for permanent commission. However, they can opt for extension of up to 14 years of service.
