Overview of UPSC CMS 2020 Exam
The Combined Medical Services Exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission every year. It qualifies and selects eligible candidates for recruitment into different healthcare officer posts of government departments of India. We provide here a brief overview of the CMS 2020 exam in terms of the main features of the central recruitment exam.
- The CMS 2020 exam is being held for the recruitment of Medical Officers and Junior Scale Posts in Indian governmental departments.
- One needs to have an MBBS degree awarded by a recognized University in India to apply for the CMS 2020 recruitment exam.
- Candidates can apply for the exam till the scheduled last date by paying a nominal fee of Rs 200/-.
- UPSC is providing the facility to withdraw the application form after the closure of the application window.
- Candidates are sorted through a preliminary screening exam. It is a Computer Based Test of 500 marks.
- Final selection of candidates is conducted through a Personality Test. It carries 100 marks in total.

Stage 2: Personality Interview
The total marks for the interview are 100 marks. In this, a candidate is basically tested upon the general knowledge and academic knowledge of their interested field. UPSC CMS Admit Card 2020
Intimation of UPSC CMS Admit Card 2020 is done through Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on the website. The candidates can download the e-admit card from upsc.gov.in. Combined Medical Services (CMS) admit card in two ways. One through registration id and other through roll number of the candidate. UPSC CMS 2020 Selection Process
The Combined Medical Services Exam consists of two stages for the selection of eligible candidates. At first, the provisional eligibility of candidates is determined through the applications received. The UPSC receives online applications till the scheduled last date. After that the candidates are selected through the following stages of selection.
Written exam
The written exam consists of two papers i.e. Paper-I & II. It carries 500 marks. The topics of the written exam are divided into papers of 02 hours each and consist of MCQ type questions only. Each paper consists of 120 questions carrying 04 marks each.
Personality test
The personality test carries 100 marks. Candidates who qualify through the written exam are eligible to appear in the personality test. The purpose of the final interview or personality test is to assess the candidates’ personal aspects such as judgement, intellectual abilities, alertness, leadership capabilities, social cohesiveness etc.
UPSC CMS Answer Key 2020
The Commission publishes the official answer key for UPSC CMS 2020 as per the announcement. Candidates can avail the answer key from its official website which is upsc.gov.in. Answer key published at first is provisional and is open for objections and challenges. The commission then considers all the objections raised by the candidates. After this a panel of experts, if find them correct then relevant changes are done in the answer key and publishes the final key. This provisional answer key is not open to further changes.
UPSC CMS Result 2020
Union Public Service Commission releases the result on the website. It is declared according to the date mentioned in the official notification. Candidates wondering about result can check the same on upsc.gov.in. Result of UPSC CMS is declared in a pdf format. It contains the roll number of the qualified candidates serial wise. The commission releases the result for every stage separately; both for stage 1 and stage 2. The final result of stage 2 implies the admission of the candidate after the verification of the documents.

Eligibility Criteria UPSC CMS 2020
Mere issuance of the admit card and qualifying the exam does not guarantee admission. Until there will be an eligibility criteria confirmation at the time of verification of the documents. Check the eligibility from below as mentioned in the official brochure.
Nationality
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- The subject of Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or from Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Note: For a person belonging from category 2 to 5 have to issue a certificate of eligibility from Gov. of India.
Age Limit
- Candidates must not have attained the age of 32 years and should not be born earlier than Aug. 02, 1987.
Relaxation
The upper age limit is relaxed in the following cases. The candidates lying in these categories can avail for age relaxation.
