Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is the conducting body for coveted Civil Services Examination. This exam is conducted for various Civil Services in the Indian Government. This exam is conducted in two parts: Prelims and Mains. The admit card for IAS 2019 will be released separately for both the parts of the exam.
First, the UPSC Civil Services 2019 (IAS) Prelims Admit Card will be released. It will be issued online, in the month of June 2019. Those who clear the preliminary exam will get the admit cards for the main examination. Candidates have to visit the official website to download the admit card. The IAS 2019 Admit Card will only be issued to those who will submit the application form in the prescribed format. It should also be noted that the Commission will not send it via post. UPSC IAS Prelims Admit Card
Candidate must keep the admit cards with them carefully and carry it to the exam hall on the day of the examination. They will not be allowed to take the examination if they don’t carry the admit card on the day of the examination.
How to Download IAS 2019 Admit Card: The prelims admit card will be available for download to all those aspirants who registered themselves before the last date. The admit card will be available online and would not be sent by mail. Here are the simple steps through which the candidate can download the civil services prelims admit card:
Step 1: Go the official website of UPSC or access the link available on this page.
Step 2: On the main website, go to the admit card section.
Step 3: Click on the link “E-Admit Card for various examinations”
Step 4: Click on the exam link. You will view the examination window where all the information will be given. Click on the link to download the admit card.
Step 5: The candidate will get the option to download either through the registration ID or through the roll number.
- If choosing the registration option, then the candidate needs to enter the registration ID (RID), date of birth and a random number which will be in the form of an image and visible to the candidate.
- If choosing roll number option, then-candidate needs to enter the roll number, date of birth and the random numbers for verification.
The admit card of UPSC will contain the following details:
- Name of the candidate
- Roll Number of the candidate
- Father’s name
- Mother’s name
- Venue of Examination
- Time table of the examination
It should be ensured by the candidate that the details on the admit card should be correct as per the information entered by him during the registration.
Documents to be Carried with IAS 2019 Admit Card – For prelims examination, the candidate should carry a ballpoint pen (black), a clipboard or a hardboard to the examination hall along with the admit card and the valid ID proof. Rough sheets will be provided in the examination hall.
Examination Pattern for UPSC Prelims: IAS Prelims is the first step for all the aspirants of Civil Services 2019. The candidates who want to clear this examination have to first clear the prelims so that they qualify for the Main examination. Each paper will be of 2 hours duration and of 200 marks each. It will be multiple choice question (MCQ) type. The paper will be conducted in both Hindi and English.
The General Sciences (GS) Paper II will be the qualifying paper for which minimum 33% marks are to be secured by the candidate to qualify for the mains. Negative marking of 0.33 will be there for the wrongly marked answer in the OMR sheet.
UPSC IAS Main Admit Card 2019
The admit card for IAS Main exam 2019 will be issued only to those candidates who will qualify the Preliminary exam. It will also be issued online, at upsc.gov.in.
Examination Pattern for UPSC Mains: The mains is the second step to be cleared after the prelims.It consists of written examination and the interview process. It is conducted for those candidates who clear the minimum cut off for the preliminary exam. It is a wriiten essay style examination where the candidate has to clear all the papers to make it to the next round of Personal Interview.
The mains consists of total 9 papers. 2 papers will be of qualifying nature and remaining 7 papers will be used for calculating the merit.There are 2 language paper: English and one language of his/her choice from the list of languages. The remaining 7 papers will be essay type in the subjects mentioned in the official notification. The total marks of the main examination and the interview will be 2025 marks.
The admit cards for mains examination will be released in the month of September 2019. Candidates can download the admit card for the mains examination from the official website of UPSC.
Details Mentioned in UPSC IAS 2019 Admit Card
The admit card is an important document which should be carried by the candidate on the day of the examination. It will be issued three weeks before the examination. It will contain the basic details of the candidates such as name, details of the examination such as the venue details, the timing of the examination etc.
It must be checked by the candidates that all the details in the admit card correct and to the correctness of their candidates. If any discrepancy is found, it should be immediately reported to the concerned authorities as soon as possible
UPSC IAS 2019 Admit Card Corrections
In the admit card, if any mistake is found, UPSC gives the facility of getting the mistakes corrected. As soon as the candidate receives the admit card, it should be checked carefully by the candidate for any mistake. If found, it should be reported to the Commission at earliest. Information in this regard can also be obtained from the Facilitation Counter in Commission’s Office either in person or over phone numbers as given in the official notification.
No correction from the candidates will be accepted by the commission if the candidate doesn’t come up with the same, at least 3 weeks before the examination.Thus it is advised to candidates that they report the matter at the earliest possible if found.
