UPSC IES / ISS 2018 Exam is conducted every year by Union Public Service Commission. The Services for which recruitment is to be made on the results of this examination and the number of vacancies in Junior Time Scale of the Services are Indian Economic Service – 14, Indian Statistical Service – 32.

Application Form for UPSC IES / ISS 2018
Union Public Service Commission released the application form for UPSC IES / ISS 2018 Exam on the official website of UPSC at www.upsc.gov.in. The candidates who were willing to apply for UPSC IES / ISS 2018 Exam applied for UPSC IES / ISS 2018 Exam. The application procedure had two parts and the candidates had to complete all the parts in order to fill the form properly. And further part one had five steps to complete the application form filling.
Eligibility Criteria For UPSC IES / ISS 2018
Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian National. or must be subject of Nepal, Bhutan or Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 01, 1962, with the intention to set permanently in India. or
A person of Indian origin who has migrated to these countries Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam.
Age Limits: The candidate must be at 21 to 30 years before or on August 01, 2018. There is a provision of age relaxation for different categories.
- SC/ST – 05 years.
- OBC – 03 years.
- Ex-Serviceman – 05 years.
- For the candidates who have ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu and Kashmir during the period from January 01, 1980 to December 31, 1989, will get relaxation of minimum 03 years.
- In case any candidate who is Personnel Disabled in the operations during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area in Defence Services will get relaxation of maximum 03 years.
Educational Qualification
The candidate who is applying for Indian Economic Service must have a Post-Graduate Degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics from a recognized University or from any recognized Insitute.
And the candidate who is applying for Indian Statistical Service must have a Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics as one of the subjects or a Master’s degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics from a recognized University or an institute.
Physical Fitness Standard
The candidates who are applying for the UPSC IES / ISS 2018 Exam must meet the physical standard for admission to Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2018 as per Regulations set by the official authority.
Note:
- The candidate who is going to appear or is appearing or who had already appeared their final degree examinations is eligible to apply.
- In all cases described above the admission of the candidate for the examination is deemed to be provisional and subject to cancellation.
- If a candidate fails to produce the proof of qualifying the final degree examination, the candidature of such candidates will be cancelled by the UPSC.
- A candidate who has a degree from a Foreign university is also eligible.
Admit Card of UPSC IES / ISS 2018 Exam
UPSC published the admit card on the official website at www.upsc.gov.in. The eligible candidates who successfully submitted the application form with the requisite amount of fee were able to download the Admit Card for UPSC IES / ISS 2018 Exam. The admit card of UPSC IES / ISS 2018 Exam also known by e-Admission Certificate/e-Admit Card. The e-Admission Certificate/e-Admit Card has not been sent to the candidates by post or by any second method. The only mode to get e-Admission Certificate/e-Admit Card was online.
Exam Pattern for UPSC IES / ISS 2018
UPSC IES / ISS 2018 Exam has been divided into two parts. Part I is a Written examination carrying a maximum of 1000 marks and Part II is -Viva voice of such candidates as may be called by the Commission carrying a maximum of 200 marks.

The question paper in all subjects in Indian Economic Service Examination and in Indian Statistical Service Examination were subjective essay type, except for Statistics-I and Statistics-II.
The question paper was in only the English language, and the candidates have to answer all the question in English only.
The Part II of the UPSC IES / ISS 2018 Exam is a Viva Voice examination. The candidate will be interviewed by a Board of competent and unbiased observers who will have before them a record of his/her career. The object of the Viva Voice examination is to assess the suitability of the candidate for the service which has competed by the candidate.
Marking Scheme
- The marking scheme of the Indian Economic Service Examination will according to the handwriting of the candidate. If handwriting of the candidate is not easily legible, a deduction will be made on it.

Result of UPSC IES / ISS 2018
After successful conduction of exams, UPSC will release the result for the written exam. The result for UPSC IES / ISS 2018 Exam will be released on www.upsc.gov.in. The candidates who will appear in the exam will be able to check the result on the official website or on the “Result” page by clicking on the Result in the quick link section. After successful conduction of the written examination, the selected candidates shall be asked for the submission of Detailed Application Form (DAF) online. The intimation to submit Detailed Application Form (DAF) online will be sent electronically.
Selection Process for UPSC IES / ISS 2018
The whole selection process for the Indian Economic Services and Indian Statical Services is comprised of two parts of the examination. First, part is Written examination, the second part is Interview-cum-viva voice examination.
