UPSC IES / ISS 2019 – The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released Marks of Recommended Candidates of UPSC IES / ISS 2019 at upsc.gov.in. Candidates can check the personality test schedule for IES and ISS 2019. The selection of the candidates for the Indian Economic Services (IES) and Indian Statistics Services (ISS) is based on the performance of the candidates in the main exam and interview. UPSC IES / ISS 2019

Last time only, for Indian Economic Service – 14, Indian Statistical Service – 32 vacancies were notified. After the releasing of notification, the number of vacancies will be clear. This year the total number of vacancies for IES is 32 and for ISS 33.

Scheme of Viva Voice for UPSC IES /ISS 2019

The candidate will be interviewed by a Board of competent assigned for the selection. The panel will be of unbiased observers who will have before them a record of his/her career. The object of the Viva Voice examination is to assess the suitability of the candidate for the service which has competed by the candidate.

Application Form of UPSC IES / ISS 2019

The application window for the Indian Economic Service and Indian Statistical Services has been open at upsc.gov.in. The application form is available on the official website. The candidates who are interested can fill the form before the deadline. For doing the registration the candidates have to pay the application fee.

Application Fee

The application fee is Rs. 200/-. But the candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PwBD, and female candidates are exempted to pay the application fee.

Mode of Payment

The payment mode is online as well as offline the candidates can use the Debit Card / Credit Card/ Net Banking for making the payment.

In case the candidate wants to do the offline payment, he/she have to use the SBI Challan and deposits money in the nearest SBI Branch.

Eligibility Criteria of UPSC IES / ISS 2019

The candidate who meets the eligibility criteria laid down by the UPSC can apply for the UPSC IES/ ISS examination. The Eligibility Criteria as follows

Nationality:

An Indian National is eligible to apply.

And a subject of Nepal, Bhutan, or Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 01, 1962, with the intention to set permanently in India.  or

A person with Indian origin, who have migrated from the following countries Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam.

Age Limit: The candidate must be in the age bracket of 21 t 30 years.

Age Relaxation: 

The candidates who belong to the reserve category are provided the relaxation in the upper age limit. the candidates can check the age relaxations form here.

  • For SC/ST category – 05 years.
  • For OBC category – 03 years.
  • For Ex-Serviceman – 05 years.
  • For the candidates who have ordinarily been domiciled in Jammu and Kashmir during the period of January 01, 1980 to December 31, 1989, will get the relaxation of 05 years.
  • For the Defence personnel candidates who disabled during hostilities with other countries, or in a disturbed area.

Educational Qualification:

The candidates who want to apply should have completed their Graduation/ post graduation with any following Discipline

For IES

  • Economics/Applied
  • Economics/Business
  • Economics/Econometrics

For ISS

  • Statistics
  • Mathematical Statistics
  • Applied Statistics

Admit Card of UPSC IES / ISS 2019

Once the application process of UPSC IES / ISS 2019 is over, all the candidates who have filled the application form in time have issued the admit card for the examination at upsc.gov.in. The admit card is issued 03 weeks prior to the examination. The candidates have to use the registration id/roll number and date of birth to download the admit card of UPSC IES / ISS 2019.

For written examination and interview the admit card has been issued separately. Only the qualified candidates of written examination are issued the admit card for the written exam.

Exam Pattern of UPSC IES / ISS 2019

The selection of the candidates is based on the written examination and Viva Voice. The candidates should note that the written examination is distinct for IES and ISS. But both of the candidates have to undergo the same procedure for selection.

Mode of Exam: Offline
Nature of Exam: Descriptive Essay Type
The language of Paper: English, the answer should in English only.
Marking Scheme: As the type of exam is written hence there is no negative marking, but the marks will be deducted in case the handwriting of the candidate is not legible.

Examination Center for UPSC IES / ISS 2019

The examination of IES/ ISS 2019 will be held in the whole of India on the selected exam centers. The exact exam center will be notified on the admit card of candidates but at the time of filling the application form the candidates have to choose the examination center, and UPSC allocates the exam center on the First Cum First Serve Basis.

Result of UPSC IES/ ISS 2019

Once the written examination will over, the result will be declared at the official website of UPSC. the candidates who will appear in the written exam will be able to check the result. The written exam will run for 03 days. The result will be announced in the month of September 2019 for the written exam. The UPSC releases the result in the form of pdf containing the roll number of the qualified candidates.

The candidates who will obtain the minimum qualifying marks will be treated as qualified. UPSC will issue the admit card for the interview to all qualifiers of written exam, but for that, they have to fill the Detailed Application Form.
