WB Police Constable Recruitment 2018

The candidates who are interested to apply for the recruitment are advised to check the eligibility criteria first. Because the application form of the un eligible candidates will be rejected by the board. So the candidates need to fill the application form in order to participate in the recruitment process held by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board.

Application Form

The application form for the West Bengal Police Constable Recruitment are available on the official website policewb.gov.in, the candidates could apply through the link or they can visit the official website for doing the registration. The direct link for making the registration was given on the “Application Form” page. The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board provided the facilities of both online and off-line submission of applications. While doing the registration the candidates are required to upload the scanned image, signature and documents. The candidates have to pay the application fee according to their category. The application should make online before the last date of applying the application form.


Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian.

Only male candidates are eligible for the post.

Age limit:  The candidate must be between 18 to 27 years on January 01, 2018.

There is age relaxation policy is also applicable. the candidate belonging to the SC/ST category will get 05 years of age relaxation. The candidate belonging to the OBC category will get 03 years as age relaxation.  The upper age limit is also relaxable for the Ex-servicemen, NVF and Home Guards Personnel (serving in West Bengal Police only) as per existing Government Rules.

Educational Qualification

The candidate who is applying for the post must pass the Madhyamik Examination(10th) from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Examination or its equivalent by any organization.

Knowledge of Langauge:

The candidate must be proficient in reading the writing and speaking of Bengali language. However, this provision will not be applicable to the persons who are permanent residents of hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts

Physical Standard

The candidate must possess some physical standard set by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board. The physical requirements are given below.

Admit Card

The admit card for the preliminary examination will be published online when the application process will be over. The candidates who will succeed to fill the application form could download the admit card from the official website or they can do the same form the link provided on the “Admit Card” page. No, admit card will be sent by post to the candidate who made their application online. They have to download the e-Admit Cards from the website. And the candidates who will fill their applications offline they can get the details about the admit card on the “Admit card” page. The admit card is the key to examination hall no candidates will be allowed without the admit card in the examination hall.

Examination Pattern

The candidates who will find eligible by the board will get the admit card. they have to sit for the Preliminary examination. The preliminary examination will be qualifying in nature. The whole examination pattern is described here.Subjects for the preliminary exam is
-General Awareness and General Knowledge (50 Marks),
-Elementary Mathematics (Madhyamik standard) (30 Marks),
-Reasoning (20).

  • The paper will be MCQ based.
  • There will be 100 questions with four options. The candidate has to mark the correct answer.
  • Duration of the examination will be One Hour and the paper will be of 100 marks.
  • Each question will carry equal mark.
  • There will be the provision of negative marking, on every wrong answer 1/4th mark will be deducted.
  • The exam paper will be in Bengali and Nepali language.

Answer Key

The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board will release the answer key once the examination process will be over. Answer key for the preliminary examination will be released on the official website of the recruitment board. As all the papers in the preliminary examinations are Objective type so the board will release the answer key.  By comparing the answers in the key and that marked in the exam, you get some idea about Result. However, the answer key will not guarantee for the success in the exam so candidates can’t rely fully on the answer key. After successful conduction of exams, West Bengal Police Recruitment Board will release the result of the written exam. The result for WB Police Constable Recruitment 2018 Exam will be released on www.policeweb.gov.in. The result will be declared by the board after releasing of the answer key. So the result will fully dependent on the answer keys. Selection Process

The selection process of the WB Police Constable Recruitment 2018 has many stages the candidates need to undergo each and every step of the recruitment process. The candidates need to give the
