How APPSC declares Group-I results, stage by stage
Screening Test result
The Screening Test only shortlists: the number admitted to the Main Examination is 50 times the vacancies, irrespective of communities. The Commission fixes the minimum qualifying marks at its discretion under G.O.Ms.No.5 of 5 January 2018. It may apply relaxed standards for SC, ST, BC and physically challenged candidates if too few would otherwise qualify. In Notification 28/2022 the result was a PDF list of register numbers of candidates provisionally qualified for the Mains.
Main Examination result
The papers in Telugu and English are qualifying only: 40% for OC, Sportspersons and EWS, 35% for BC and 30% for SC, ST and PBD in each paper. Marks in them are not counted for merit. The five other papers carry 150 marks each, and candidates are called for the Interview at the ratio of 1:2 with reference to the vacancies. For Notification 28/2022, the Mains result named the register numbers shortlisted for the oral test and asked them to bring original certificates for verification on the interview day.
Final selection
Selection rests on the Mains and the Interview (75 marks), a total of 825 marks. Minimum aggregate qualifying marks are 40% for OC, Sportspersons and EWS, 35% for BC and 30% for SCs, STs and PBDs. Candidates with equal marks are bracketed and ranked by age, oldest first; if ages tie, the one who acquired the educational qualification earlier ranks higher.
When can you see your marks?
After the final selection list, total marks of successful candidates are displayed on the website, and the marks of all who attended the written examination are available in their individual logins. Requests for a Memorandum of Marks are not entertained until the recruitment is finalised, and rejected, invalid, disqualified or ineligible candidates are not issued one.
After the result
Post and zone preferences are taken online before the Mains and again at certificate verification, and the preferences given at verification are final. Appointment depends on medical fitness. In the last Group-I cycle the final step was held up: on 9 January 2026 the Commission said the 12/2023 selections were pending because of court cases. The selection notification of 30 January 2026 was issued subject to writ petitions pending before the High Court.
