BPSC — the Bihar Public Service Commission, Patna — is the state commission that recruits for the Bihar civil services and a wide range of other posts. It conducts several examinations each year; the most sought-after are set out below.

BPSC Eligibility
Eligibility for BPSC exams differs by the post, but a few conditions are common: Indian nationality (with the state's domicile rules for reserved seats), and an upper age limit that is relaxed for reserved categories. The qualification is what changes most from exam to exam.

Age relaxation
The upper age limit is relaxed for SC, ST, OBC, women, PwD and ex-servicemen candidates as per the state rules, and the age is reckoned on the date fixed in each exam's official notification. Always confirm the exact limit and relaxation in the notification you are applying against.
Notes
Some technical, medical and teaching posts require a specific degree — check the post-wise requirement in the relevant notification. Final-year candidates can usually apply, subject to producing proof of passing. For the flagship exam in detail, see the BPSC CCE eligibility page.
BPSC Application Form
Every BPSC application is made online at bpsc.bihar.gov.in. You register on the BPSC online portal (bpsconline.bihar.gov.in) and then apply to each exam from your account. Every exam has its own notification, application window and fee.
How to apply
- Register / log in on the BPSC portal and complete your profile.
- Open the notification for the exam you want and start its application.
- Fill your details and post preferences, upload the photograph and signature in the prescribed format, and pay the fee online.
- Submit and keep a printout of the completed application.
