MPPSC State Service — the State Service Examination (SSE) — is the Madhya Pradesh state civil services exam, conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC). Through it the state fills senior posts such as the Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and other Group A and Group B posts. It is a competitive exam decided by merit, in three stages: Preliminary, Main and Interview.

Exam pattern in brief
The Preliminary exam has two objective papers of 200 marks each — General Studies and a General Aptitude Test (CSAT, qualifying). The Main exam has six descriptive papers for 1,400 marks, and the Interview carries 175 marks. The final merit is drawn from the Mains and the Interview.

A candidate must be a graduate (final-year candidates may apply) and meet the age and domicile conditions in the notification.
