Bihar Police Constable Selection Process
Bihar Police Constable selection has these stages — note that the merit is decided on the physical test, not the written exam:
1. Written Examination (qualifying only)
A candidate must score at least the qualifying mark (about 30%). It screens candidates but does not count toward the final merit.
2. Physical Standard Test (PST)
Height and chest (male) measured against the standards.
3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) — 100 marks (merit)
- Running — 50 marks (male 1.6 km, female 1 km; marks by time band).
- High jump — 25 marks (male from 4 ft, female from 3 ft).
- Shot put / Gola — 25 marks (male 16 lb, female 12 lb; marks by distance).
4. Document Verification & Medical
Document verification and a medical examination. The final merit list is prepared from the PET marks.
