Mizoram TET Eligibility

Eligibility for the Mizoram TET depends on the level you intend to teach. The minimum qualifications below are set as per the NCTE norms adopted by MBSE.

Paper I — Primary stage (classes I–V)

Any one of the following:

  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed); or with at least 45% as per the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedures) Regulations, 2002.
  • Senior Secondary with at least 50% and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • Senior Secondary with at least 50% and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

Paper II — Middle stage (classes VI–VIII)

Any one of the following:

  • Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year D.El.Ed.
  • Graduation with at least 50% (or 45% as per NCTE regulations) and passed or appearing in the final year of a B.Ed.
  • Senior Secondary with at least 50% and passed or appearing in a 4-year B.El.Ed, or a 4-year integrated BA/BSc B.Ed.
  • Graduation with at least 50% and a B.Ed (Special Education).
  • Post-Graduation with at least 55% and a 3-year integrated B.Ed–M.Ed.

Relaxation

A relaxation of up to 5% in the qualifying marks of the minimum educational qualification is allowed for candidates belonging to reserved categories — SC, ST, OBC and Differently Abled (PwD). Teacher-education diplomas/degrees must be recognised by the NCTE (or RCI for Special Education courses).

Qualifying the MTET is only one of the eligibility conditions for appointment; the recruiting authority verifies full eligibility at the time of appointment.
